Re: Post your firebird pics
But anyways its been changed and modified so its not really to much stock. Ill be dropping in a LT1 engine soon and what and i have plans on racing seats and all. Im not trying to falsify what my car is but i do believe it was a real formula but now been changed enough to really not matter. But nice car. I like it a good bit. Im not really goin for a stock look so by time my cars done it wont even look close to a formula.

Nice looking car...not a formula though. It's just a base firebird, but I love the 91-92 body style still.

Well I finally got the decals on mine. But I did a little customizing with them since the car isn't a formula model. But I think they look pretty good on it.

now see, if GM would have shown more F-cars jumping off lawnmowers in their ads instead of silly crap like them going fast and handling (which most of the Third Gen cars couldn't do anyhow) they'd have sold a lot more...

yessir! show that Z28 pulling a plow or that Trans Am running a bushhog. or perhaps show a nice IROC-Z with a salt spreader on the back and a Fisher plow on the front. show the utility side of these beauties!

Re: Post your firebird pics
AWESOME cars in this thread! i no longer have a 3rd gen (sadly) but i wanted to post pics of my buddy's 86 Trans Am. he's located in Graham, WA...just like the guy with the maroon GTA a little ways back in this thread...the car has a TPI 305 and a 700R4. has the 9-bolt rear with 2.77 gears. he's had it since 1992 and it has 140k on it...
this pic makes the paint look faded, but i assure you it's perfect.

Mav, that is a GORGEOUS car! Everytime I've seen that darker blue with silver, it's been on a beat car. Now that I see it on a perfect car, it totally changed my opinion of it. Awesome ride.

Thanks, Devil, I appreciate that! Black had always been my first choice because I'm an 80's kid who grew up on Knight Rider (Nice ride, 87KITT!), but I've had black cars before. They're a pain in the *** to keep clean, and the Houston sun and heat would have destroyed the paint. I've also always loved the blue/silver combo. This car was too good to pass up.

I normally detest aftermarket hoods on firebirds but with the black that doesn't actually look too bad! Nice!

Man, there are people that hate this hood, but like this, it changes their mind. It turned out so much better on the car than in my head, it is sexy, paint job is 3 days old now.

Re: Post your firebird pics
TT2 Classics with black painted centers. All 17x9.5 with 275/40-17 BFG G-Force KDs. Fronts have 6.0 inches back spacing and use a half inch spacer to clear the Baer brakes. Rears have 5.5 inches back spacing. Tires/Wheels were new in June so very few miles on the setup.
I'd like to run a front wheel without a spacer and I'm probably mini-tubbing my car this winter to make room for 315s.

Damn, looking good man! IDK how I missed this...I was subscribed to your thread but havn't gotten any e-mail updates on it recently. Hood doesn't look too bad...not my favorite for a TA, but def not the worst lol. Did you ever end up turbocharging the 5.3 or did you leave it all motor?

No, sold the turbo, going to put the nitrous kit on it and run it with gas. The turbo setup was for making a nasty street car, but since i dont street race, i changed the plans.

Should still be pretty sweet with juice. Good luck with it. Let me know if you dyno it since I'm curious what an all motor 5.3 can do.

They make anywhere from 300-370 depending on mods. That is of course with heads for the high numbers.
