1989 Formula WS6 with 350 for $1000?
So this car is for sale local in my area. It's a 1989 Formula WS6 with a 350 long block, or so he says. Haven't seen the car in person yet but have pics that do the car somewhat justice. Power everything, everything works, all guages, even the ac works. Has a new compressor he says. It's been from Florida all the way up to PA multiple times. Posi rear end and WS6 performance package. Could use some paint but other than that what you guys think?

bet you a million bucks its just a l03, and it has the wrong wing, so good chance its not even a formy. I lke the warm air intake hole mod, classic trash.
check the 8th digit of the vin and get the rpo sheet from the console. see what it really is.
i'd pass personally, for 1000 bux, its a bit trashy
the AC compressor looks like its pretty old and dirty, not new

It's probably a regular firebird with an LO3 and I wouldn't listen to ANYTHING he says, asses the car in person for yourself. IF everything works and it runs well I'd give him $600.

I agree, there's a good chance that might be a regular Firebird not a Formula. It is has a regular Firebird spoiler which seems to match the rest of the car. It has a Formula hood but it's a different color so it's definitely been changed. Since the bumper and hood are both red I'm guessing the car got hit at some point and they just used parts from a Formula. It has a TBI engine that doesn't look likes it's been replaced recently so I'd be willing to bet it's a 305. I wouldn't pay $1000 for it...maybe $750.

I would check the RPO sheet and see if it is a Formula . The hood and front bumper have been changed and the hood insert matches the car so it may be a Formula with a Firebird spoiler on it because I don't see the third light under the spoiler that it would have if it was a Firebird . It more than likely is a Formula 305/LO3 but if they can prove it has a 350 in it ask what they did to the throttle body and the computer to make it run right . They should have changed the injectors and reprogrammed the computer .

that'd make a great sleeper. keep the current looks, but put an LS9 under the hood. Use a pair of BFG 235/60R15 drag radials and a full on race suspension in back, humiliate an awful lot of posers ( and rich old fools in Porsches ).

Looks like a 305, the hood has been replaced, but the end is white wich may have came off the old hood. The doors say formula. The wing is wrong, it should be a wrap around. Ask him about the wing & hood & check RPO codes. Then work from their.
