I MISS MY FIREBIRD
sorry or the all caps, but i do i really miss my old 89 v6 auto firebird, i keep looking at old pictures of it and thinking my god why did i sell that car, theres no way my camaro was worth it, and what with gas going up in price it really was no match for my 2.8, i feel bad that the kid i sold it to has beat it up, i feel bad that it'll never be the same again if i ever get it back, i feel awful, anyone else ever have such feelings for a car you dont have anymore?

Man, I hate it when someone trash's out a firebird! Couldn't you get another firebird and make it a replica of that one??

Thats when i always here people say.... man i never should have sold that car! i always keep that in the back of my mind because i have a car i love, and there have always been opportunities for a trade, or that ive wanted a better pristine bird but ive stuck with mine through bad times and good times, and im looking to definitely give my trans am some love and labor this year once i start my new job and when time permits to rebuild everything.

Sorry for your lose for I to have realized to late after selling a car that I should have kept it. The hurt and anger will ease up, not in a few months though, it could take years. It will never leave you all the way, I am old and grey and still kick myself in the a== for a car I sold when I was 16.

Would rather save for $4000 and get a decent GTA.
That looks like a $2200 car to me, but who knows the prices have gone up.

I know what you are saying, I will forever kick myself for not buying the 1986 Monte Carlo SS I looked at way back when I was searching for my first car...it was a beautiful 1 owner, white, t-top SS...back when those cars were cheap, the guy wanted $1200 for it cause it had 93,xxx miles. I ran into a very similar car for sale lately, now they want $4500 for them. Can't turn back time, but it will always bother you!

I miss my old girl sometimes, in fact I saw my old car this morning! I just couldn't justify keeping it and dumping money into it. And the GTO is WAY faster and modern. I just hope whoever owns it now takes good care of it.

the mpg, the good window seals, not having leaking ttops, the endless throwability of that car, the working a/c the mp3 hookup in the stereo i know these are all things that are easy to fix with my car, but most importantly were the memories, no other car will be my first

Re: I MISS MY FIREBIRD
If it makes you feel better, the more of them you go through, it does get a little easier. But not easier like "I guess getting rid of it wasn't that big of deal." It's more like a "being dead inside" kind of feeling.
When I sold my first formula I almost chased it on foot as it went down the road. I kept in contact with the guy who bought it for a year or so, he did a lot of work to it and, frankly, it was in a better home that if it stayed with me at 17 years old. I just didn't have the cash or work space to take proper care of it.
Then I sold a 1978 Cutlass Salon with a factory 5 speed trans. One of six made, had original and duplicate GM buildsheets for it, as well as all the special order paperwork, etc. This was when the internet market was just budding and selling cars online didn't happen as often. I needed the cash and sold it locally to a kid I went to high school with, he had put it in a ditch in the first week and it was crushed within 3 months at the junkyard because the kid just beat the snot out of it. I can only imagine what that trans and just the g-body pedal set alone would be worth today. The trans was strange, reverse was where 1st should be, then first was where second should be. That car borderline belonged in a museum and I watched it get destroyed in months. I never knew it was even in danger of being at the junkyard before it was too late. F'n torture.
Don't feel bad. I've been able to duplicate an 88 formula, ws6, 5 spd with all the goodies. Even with low mileage. It even almost feels teenager-correct. But I'll spend a lifetime trying to find a way to make that 78 cutlass salon again. It just won't happen.
