Let's Set A Date!!!

Seems like there are a few people interested in meeting in Prince Frederick , Calvert Co. The show is held every Sat., cars start to show up around 2, but most are there by 4-5. I would say if we could meet up early enough in order to be able to park all our cars together. We wouldn't be in the show, but it's just in a big parking lot roped off. So we could be right outside of it, but there so others can check out our cars too.
I'm thinking mid-late July.
Here are the choices,
July 13th ( I would prefer not this date, I'll be 21 on the 14th, not sure if I'm going to be drunk that Sat nite or not. )
July 20th
July 27th

So everyone who thinks they'll make it, try and pick a date and we'll see what we can do. I want it to be a good turn out so people don't waste their time driving for only a few cars. So if you have some friends with 3rd Gens tell them about it.

I am probably game for the 27th also. I am not sure what I have planned. I know some of those weekends I will have to deal with wedding stuff. I think I am going to stop by on the 22nd of June as well. I havent been down in that area in a while, and wanted to take the girl down too solomons island since she has never been down there.

Sounds like a winner here....

I would be game for the 27th of July as well, that should give me enough time to complete the car! (Planning a refinish soon, along with new fenders[they both have the infamous bow to them from the car being jacked up in the wrong spot], hood blisters or SS hood, GTA or Z28 spoiler?, -maybe- some 25th stripes[not if SS hood comes into play], and some other odds and ends...)

I don't know if I could make it unless it is on July 20 or 27. I will be out of the country from June 15- July 13. I would need directions also because I don't know the area. How far is it coming from DC??

Looks like it will be July 27th.

It's about 40 mins from DC I would guess. Reall easy to find.
I'll have to check into directions, or you can go to www.mapquest.com and enter your address and enter in to Prince Frederick. It's right on RT 4, I'll go into further detail later.

Mark, all you need to do is give us an address of something that is right near the car show that we can plug into mapquest to get some more 'direct' directions

Thanks man

DIRECTIONS

To find directions enter this into mapquest.com

150 Solomons Island Rd.
Prince Frederick MD 20678

This is the address to Wal-Mart which is right on RT 4 which on mapquest is labeled MD 4. Wal-mart is about 2 miles south of the Food Lion Shopping Center where the car show is, so just take off about 2 miles for your total milage. Any further help, just ask.

I'll try to make it on the 27th, but I'm still squaring away a few things on my Camaro, so I'll get back to you (hate to show up and not be able to leave if the car dies). Car isn't really show-ready, but that's ok.

I might do that just to see all the pretty 3rd-gens . Hopefully I'll have the car where I want it by then, just have to find the time to do it all.

Hehe, geez tell me about it! I now have everything that I need to finish my car the way I want it, I just now have to find the time to do it all. I am going to try to have it done by the end of the month, but who knows. It's kinda tough working with 9.5 fingers for the next 2 months and all. I am done with the interior and drivetrain, just have the body mods and refinishing to do yet. Here's what is waiting to go on:

Cervini's show series cowl induction hood, 2.5"
complete 91/92 gfx setup
GTA hatch and aero spoiler
clean pair of fenders to replace my bowed ones
SLP 1 3/4 headers
Admiral blue met paint (think C4 corvette)

I am really hoping to get this wrapped up in time....

Oh, it's an 87 IROC btw

sounds like its gonna be awesome man. I'm still stock, sorting out a couple trouble codes and other things like that. I've only had the car a week, so it'll be a while before I'm content with it. Mines an '88 IROC. Sucks about your hands dude, hope they heal quick.

Thanks bro! I will keep a better eye on where my hands are when working on stuff in the future. Is your iroc a tpi car? If so I will probably be bringing my ECM scanner setup with me to the show if anyone needs to use it. If your car can make it out you are welcome to it. I think I have software for TBI cars too, just never really checked thus far. So where are you from anyways?

Yeah its a 350TPI, that'd be awesome if I could borrow the scanner. I may drive over to Autozone and borrow one though, because driving the whole month with the SES light on would bother me. I just ran it through inspection and found out I need a new exhaust, so that's next. Anyone know where I can get one cheap? (I like the Flowmaster American Thunder, but I'm open to suggestions if they're inexpensive). I'm definately going to try to make it on the 27th, just have to make sure I'm not working that day, it sounds like a blast.

Hey I found a 3" American Thunder dual tips for $320, does that sound about right?

Ahh sounds good. You could always do the paper clip method though, and save yourself a trip. My scanner does real time monitoring as well, which is pretty handy for seeing what is going on as it happens. I have a buddy parting out a GTA, I will see what the exhaust looks like and let you know if that sounds interesting. $320 sounds about right for the flowmaster setup, but for the $ I would just go with a 3" madrel bent pipe, 80 series flowmaster fbody muffler, and a set of 2.5" tailpipes. Exact same stuff as the kit, but will be a good bit less $. That's what I ended up doing, I think I have 260 or so into the catback but I also have 3.5" chrome tips as well. Now if I would get off my butt and get the SLP headers on there, it will sound pretty mean...

Welp, finally crawled under that GTA and it's some kinda of hillbilly halfbred 2.5" setup. I would see what Bones has to offer, otherwise you would probably be best off doing what I did, if I did not do the tips with the setup it would have been around 200 or so new & installed w/ the flo.

the iroc is not repairable in my opinion. the radiator is pushed up to the motor. the left fender is comes over the door by the mirror and it's crumbled up real nice and i got a crease in the roof behind the driver door.

Are you planning on parting the whole thing out or pulling the engine for a new project?

So what time was everyone planning on showing up? (Just trying to get a figure on the details.... )

Mark, maybe you should toss a target time out or something for us to be there?

Is 12:00 ok with everyone? There won't be any cars there yet, but we need to get there early so we can park together. Plus I'd hate for some people to drive a long ways only for a few hours. There are some restaurants near it, if we wanted to grab some lunch.

There's Ruby Tuesday's or Arby's (ok so it's fast food, but it's cheaper) within walking distance.

Also an Autozone for your car needs. I think I might pick up one of them lite up muffler tips.

There's Ruby Tuesday's or Arby's (ok so it's fast food, but it's cheaper) within walking distance.

Also an Autozone for your car needs. I think I might pick up one of them lite up muffler tips.
Dammit that means I have to wake at like 11 on a saturday? Dear lord man, are you insane? Okay... I am in for 12.

Looking good for 12'O clock and definitely up with that autozone thing. Think they have some stickers? My car has been feeling sluggish lately and I think it needs a 50hp sticker to run right.

12 is good here.

Looks like the car might just make it in time, too!

Hopefully (/crosses fingers) it should be painted by the end of the weekend...
