I think MIR is gonna be just as expensive as Cecil County because MIR is an even bigger and more known track than Cecil County.

Dude I think your numbers for Cecil County are way off, where did you get those? I'll let you know what the deal is when I talk to them. MIR isnt that expensive, I know a guy that does a 1 day track rental once a month and it typically costs around 75 to 80 bucks a person for a whole day, which isnt bad at all!

I don't have any number posted do I. I meant was that i mark already spoke to Cecil County and they were really expensive. I just thought that MIR would be pretty expensive too because they are just as known as cecil county and also hold big events there. $75-$80 a person, ouch, thats more than i expected.

I've found a second driver (buddy even has dual citizenship, heh), so if I'm not treeplanting this summer I should be able to get out there no prob.

*edit, I'm 19, so buying drinks in the states is going to be a pain...unless bartenders haven't seen many IDs from Manitoba...

haha well Im sure at our "cookout" we shouldnt have to much trouble sneaking a beer or two Ill only be 19 so I wont be able to buy anything either. Im hoping to have a female to bring with me. I just got out of a REALLY messed up relationship so Im gonna stay in the game for awhile and try to find one that isnt insane

80$ a person is reasonable. Ill be willing to pay that. If its 10 for a weekend and you for sure have 100 people show thats only 100$ a piece so that isnt that bad. Id rather pay 100 dollars and have the track to ourselves all day than go when all the ricers are there.

All of these locations sound too far from Dayton, OH.

I don't know that I'd trust my car to make it that far and back, plus whatever beating I did to it while there.

Oh well....

I wouldn't mind the $100 so much either, but you gotta remember the guys from FL and Canada coming, they're already look at a huge gas bill coming.

FyreLance, it's only 10 hrs ,roughly, from dayton. Either take 70east, 270S, MD side, Rt5 S ,301 S to 234. or even 35 to Charrlestown WV, hookup to 64, 75N, get on 301 N, takes you right to 234.

Plus , since I lived in Chuck Co. for 13yrs , my bestest bud has a 66 Mustang which could use some peepee smakin'

Sure, I'll go. Time & place don't really matter, so long as I get enough advanced warning to request time off. Don't think I'll have the IROC running any time soon, though.

A couple things about renting a track...

1. If we get a track money is gonna have to be due around january before they make up the 2003 schedule. How are people that find out after its paid going to be able to join?

2. What if we were to turn the renting of the track into an event where spectators could come. Since the track would still be making money from spectators wouldnt the price be lowered a lot? I know cecil has an all Buick thing coming up I wonder if we could put together an all 3rd gen event.

3. Was the 10,000 price tag on cecil for just a day or a whole weekend? I wouldnt mind paying $80 for a whole weekend of runs. To not have to battle w/ ricers and grocery getters would be worth it!

Just a couple thoughts,
jason

you make some very good points. I thought the $10k was for a day, could have been wrong though. One guy mentioned just tryin to get a lane or 2 reserved for us. What do you others guys think about this? About the 1st point that was made?
I like the idea of spectators coming that would help the price out I think?

Wonder what it costs to rent Carlisle. There would probably be more cars there than the GM Nationals...

BTW... I am alive. Just trying to get my head above water again sometimes.

is there still an interest in camping?
how about if we get other f-body guys in on this 1st to 4th gens?
also if we do do this plan on about 25% no showing up on that day.

Yes, camping is still planned. Well, I really think we will have over 100 3rd gens, so I don't really want to plan on too many others comin, like 1st to 4th Gens, cause it might get too big, know what I mean?

yea the camping thing is really cool, i do it all the time, all the biker events and rallys, it's alot better than motels.
mark
all the principles need to start meeting (in person) around the new year (or before that is we are getting a track) and start planing this,
biker

meet place

I think PA is a perfect spot to have the gathering. Either way everyone who goes to the gathering is going to drive, wether it's a short distance or long.
