I'm right off marriotsville road. Me and 1991-Z28 live in the area. I have a white 91 Z28 which is still in my driveway, and 1991-Z28 has a maroon 91 Z28 and lives in owings mills. You'll hear him before you see him.

MD83Z: Go ahead and chuck them.

Note to all MD peeps: My car failed the sniffer several times and although I tweaked it almost getting it to pass. I then decided to store it until such time as I had the means to make the necessary repairs. Well I stored it over the winter and then re-registered it in the spring. Interesting thing is I have never been sent to emissions inspection since. I even called the emissions call center to make sure they had a right address and they told me everything was alright. Mark Shields also has had a similar experience and hasn't been sent to emissions even though he failed as well. Now you know the secret of emissions in MD, just confuse the system.

That might explain my situation. My last emissions check was over 3 years ago. Since my last check, I failed to recognize that my cars registration expired. I registered it several months after and haven't received an emission notice since. I've even called VEIP and they say my car isn't due, and could not give a date when it was...

I've got a couple questions about this...
1) When you reregistered did you have to get it inspected again?
2) Did you have the car insured the entire time?

Better late than never...

1. No. I just paid the registration fee.
2. Yes, the car remained insured.

I recently emission tested my S10 and while at the VEIP station (Ordnance Rd, Glen Burnie) I again asked about my Camaro. They still don't show it being due

Lemme get this straight… you guys failed emissions and let the registration expire, went to reregister and haven't been called for emissions again? Huh, I'll have to try that, myself, I've managed to figure out that there appears to only be one woman answering the phone line for the emissions deal who's seriously nice about it. I've managed to postpone getting my truck smogged for just about 18months now by just calling and telling her that it's not running right and I can't get it there and she gives me a 6 month extension over the phone.

As far as location… right on the PG/Montgomery county line in Laurel (snooty people around here want to differentiate themselves from the Laurel with the trailer parks so they call themselves West Laurel, or just tell people Burtonsville).

I'm in Aspen Hill.

Nice to see the number of fellow suffering Marylander's here. Between traffic congestion, Speed Humps/Bumps, potholes, traffic lights and Emissions 'Inspections', MD has finally gotten worse than Northern VA!

A get together sounds great.... anything in the works or did the idea fade?

heh… my formula just fast passed it's emissions inspection… the only thing I did to it was slap the cat on it. I tried to lower the fuel pressure to something reasonable (it runs fastest at the track at 54psi) but found that it wouldn't go under 49psi for some reason. Oh well.

Harford county,Bel air represented here.

Whats this North Point meeting.

I went to emmisions recently with no cats, no smog pump, disconnected EGR and I still passed. All I did was add that guaranteed to pass emmisions bottle.

Where are we meeting these days.

Sparrows Point/Dundalk area here, working over in Hanover near BWI.

The North Point "power at the point" picnic is usually in mid-late September, but might be a little earlier this year.
