July Meet for all us Third Gens
Ok well I have been scheduling this for some time now I just havn't told ya's lol.
Date: July Sunday 30th
We will be having a cook out with Crabs, Shrimp, Burgers, and Hotdogs. I will be cooking and will be looking for one more guy (or gal) to help me by cooking on the grill. Fireworks maybe? I scheduled is late in the month because I know how people have a crazy amount of family events to go to. Even though we care greatly about each other im sure we put family first....
Location:
I have a few ideas but I am looking for more.
Fee:
There will be a fee because it will be all you can eat and depending on the amount of people how much crabs, shrimp, and hotdogs I gotta buy. No ones gonna make a profit. Just gotta pay for food.
So let me know on ideas and what not and if your gonna come!

I must be missing something -- I've read this a couple of times, but don't see where it's going to be. Is it at your place, crrlmich? If so -- an address so I can see how long of a drive it is?

I would love to go to it. Southwest VA hardly ever has anything going on plus i have family up in MD. It's about a 4 hour drive but man, no one can pass up those MD crabs, better be jumbo size to. But you can look forward to me going, just name a place thats common, like baltimore/Glen Burney(sp) area cause other than those places, I only know Westminister and Towson. Message me with some details please though.

Anyone know any parks that are around the glen burnie area? We need like one that has like built in grills. I know a place in Joppa, MD (if you wanna mapquest it) we could also do Sparrows Point I think it is? We has power at the point there.... I need ideas....

Also who knows a good place to get crabs? Male, Jumbo would be of upmost importants. Also how many crabs you guys think we need and shrimp? Or should we just do crabs?

Why not try and get a place on the bay that overlooks water rather then a city...Like out rt 50 east towards the bay bridge. Annapolis area? Im just saying that because lots of nice scenery out there im sure we can find a park/beach to have a picnic or whatever.
My bros friends just had a crab feast got them from a guy in the D.C area...some females but it was only like $60 they talked the guy down from $100 and it was enough crabs for about 10 people. So i dont know its not crab season yet theres not that many places to get nice stashes without paying the bucks.

what about the place where we usually have picnics, if you want a place by the water.

Well who is all in VA? Like JMU area or something like that? because typically when i take my trips up there i take I-81 north, to 70 east and jump on 695. If someone is up to metting me out in like Hagerstown where the outlets are, then i wouldn't see anything wrong in anywhere that we go.

Sandy Point park is right on the bay
. Might be a pain in the *** trying to steam up a bushel or so of crabs on a charcoal grill though.

Well maybe if we can, just a suggestion, if the VA people that plan on attending meet up somewhere around the MD line. There are plenty of places on 81 that can be chosen and then just ride as a pack to the final destination. I wanna stay away from 66 because the DC traffic is unbearable on 495. So 81 would be my route for my way towards MD, that is if anyone is in the western part of VA or around the area.
That sounds pretty cool however still need a location....sandy point by the bay bridge? I think the other get togethers had pretty good locations as well and should be considered. Crabs really arnt a big deal their pretty easy to find. You can steam them their buy them pre cooked etc..

Thats still a tough drive because 66 is the fastest way and that DC traffic is just killer. But i'm still gonna try and get arrangements and go up saturday, stay somewhere and then just head out there. Looks like a good location but just far far away in MD.

isnt there a lighthouse that you can go in & climb the steps up to see out over the bay??
The lighthouse i belive your talking about is in saint micheals. They normally have crab fests and such down their. Parking is on the side of the road rather than a parking lot. However their is a school parking lot near by. I think we need some md people who knows where this can take place.

What do you think im bs'ing? Cause if that's what it is then someone is on the wrong foot. You would still need to set a fee for such things as food and other expenses.

Man hauuuse you had me goin there for a sec. But the location is good. Just need a set price of cost's and what someone had said ealier, the parking is near a road and not a lot, and that we should try and find a lot near by or something.
