Just thought I would vent real quik, so last night im looking through our local trading post and I find a guy in norfolk selling a factory fiberglass hood from like a 83 z for 25 bucks so I call the guy up and arange a meet today to pick the thing up. I get to his shop this morning and the hood is in descent shape not as good as he explained on the phone but hey for 25 bucks cant go wrong, well I get to looking around this guys shop and talking to him and I come to find out that he buys up every third gen that goes for sale locally and the chops the car up and sells it, only problem I have with this is that he does not sell parts he literally chops the cars up and sells them for scrap! he even told me he would rather scrap them whole than sell off parts, im telling you guys he said that he has already chopped up at least 40 cars and if they were 40 basket cases I wouldnt mind but the cars he is chopping up are in great shape he has a 89 iroc right now that is literally cut in half and on its way to the scrap dealer, the car was mint paint was nice everything, and he just didnt give a ****, then I tell him about this site and tell him im sure he would make more on here than the scrap man and he was like to hell with that I would rather cut em up than sell em, I told him about what the dash pads are going for on ebay and he was actually surprised and said he sends all of his to the scrap man, I was so pissed after talking to this guy I wanted to just tell him to f off and walk without the hood but **** 25 bucks is 25 bucks, and to top it off he f%$ked the thing up when he got it down and busted a corner off of it and even then he was like f^&k it what do expect for 25 bucks. I guess what i am trying to say is if you dont like what your doing then dont do it at all, all of the cars this guy is cutting up I am sure someone would have took them off his hands for at least what the scrap man would give him.

Anyway this guy is a local guy in Norfolk and needless to say if I dont ever have the pleasure of talking to him agian I will be happy. sorry about the rant but if you could talk to this guy im sure you would feel the same way as I do.

If they were any good, he wouldnt be able to sell the vehicle for 50 bucks in scrap and make a profit. That means he paid little to nothing for the car. You should have asked him where he finds the cars.

 

Trust me when I say these cars are in really good shape,not one that I saw that I wouldnt hessitate to put back on the road. bottom line is the guy is a total a@@ and I would"nt **** on him if he were on fire.

No I dont have it I threw it away as soon as I got home, like I said I had no intentions of ever dealing with this guy agian.

 

He must have some sort of resentment to third gens, that about makes you sick to your stomach.
