Thinking about selling my 91 RS
I've about had it!!!
Emissions!!! I hate it. The car is too new to put Historic -OR- Street Rod tags on it (registered in MD).
The engine has a dead miss (cylinder 6 or 8). I have replaced EVERYTHING ignition-wise. I need to run a compression test but Im too lazy to. I dont wanna have to pull the head or anything (again, too lazy).
OK... say I pull the engine and stuff my currently being built 383 in it (no time soon). Im afraid that it wont pass emissions! I started to buy an 88 IROC before I built this car. But, I only paid $600 for it. The IROC was $1500.
Im thinking about buying an early-to-mid 80's G-Body. I dont want a GN and MCSS's cost too fricken much.
Im also hating the following:
- I dont have much room under the hood to play with. Im trying to build a turbo car.
- I cant run a true dual-exhaust system without ground clearance issues.
Dont get me wrong. I love my RS. Maybe I should just keep it STOCK and buy a G body also. Im not sure if I really wanna sell it. I guess Im confused...
Help!!!

Hmmmm...
I thought about it and I think Im gonna keep it. I think Im just frustrated about this whole emissions thing. I might just have to stop being lazy and just fix the damned problem.
3 more years and NO MORE VEIP!

Well somehow I seem to get an extension every time and this has gone on for a little over a year now.

Re: Thinking about selling my 91 RS
I have SOOOO much crap to fix. I gotta get my S10 running. Bought it for $350. Bad fuel pump. Drop the tank to replace it, tank has a leak. Patch the leak, install the pump, start the truck, and I see a puddle of fuel on the ground. Damned thing has a bad fuel line. I seem to have the worst luck!
I guess I will try to get an extension instead of paying $14 a month to keep the tags from being suspended...
Here are some pics...

I was told by somebody that if you have spent around 300 dollars to try to pass emissions and still fail, that they will waive it as long as you can produce receipts for the parts you have replaced/fixed to try and get it to pass. Actually I've heard this from a few people, so it may be worth looking into. Hope I helped, good luck

And when I did the waiver a few years ago, I was subjected to an under-hood inspection, to make sure the EGR/AIR/EVAP/PVC/etc. were all intact.. I believe the receipts have to be from a certified repair shop now also, not just parts receipts like I used... ymmv
