Need new tuner

hey guys...i had the custom cam from Lloyd put in. The guys from Virginia Speed in Virginia Beach put it in....and im not sure what to think.....supposedly it only put down 220 or so rwhp before the new cam. and the guys said i needd new gaskets for everything. I would not have gotten suspicious if they wouldnt have mentioned the blue gaskets i use for the valve covers. They told me I needed a new set (felpro i think) I told them that they are already on there. Then they went on about I needed the 1.6 rockers, new pushrods....basically a mild rebuild. I then dropped the bomb on them that the only thing stock on that car, was the material the block was made of. And that it was a 383.
Well after my pops picked the car up (i am military and had to go back to Japan before it was ready), he said it felt better, but it only put down like 310 or so RWHP. Needless to say I was not pleased. Now the car won't start/stay started.....they said they tuned it but.....it stayed started with the xr276 cam....and since the dyno numbers are not that great, i think it is safe to say that the tune is off......so i am looking for somebody in the Virginia area (hopefully) and maybe the NC area within reasonable driving distance.

Re: Need new tuner

Dude, contact Tick Performance and PCMForLess in Mooresville, NC. I brought my car there for a dyno tune and they did a great job. Alvin can tune the car and Tick Performance can dig into the motor if needed.

Re: Need new tuner

lol, i re-read my post. i must have deleted the first half.. fortunately you made sence of my babble...

Correct I was asking about the cam and if it was difficult to make it work well with the tpi, or if it was just too much... Would it run when it was not tuned?

What was the cam you had previously?

Ive been looking for cams, I think i may just have my heads flowed and talk to comp or someone and have them tell me what matches.

Thanks !!
