Your thoughts please
Heres the run down. I have a tune port car. I wanted to go carb. so a guy who I had met though and long time family friend had a complete carb. setup that he was willing to swap outright and he was going to do the labor. I buy all the parts needed fpr, fuel lines, ect. weeks go by and nothing. So today I go to the garage and he tells me that the wiring was to chopped up and he no longer wanted to make the trade after he has pulled the tuneport off. He wants to sell me his carb and intake setup.
Now my thoughts are this, If you make a deal with a person and shake hands on it, you follow though with the deal.
I feel pretty confident that if this were me I would have taken the loss of the wiring and completed the deal.
so I ask you.

I am a self employed electrician and I take losses to keep a customer happy and live up to my word. Good word of mouth is worth more than some wires.

Re: Your thoughts please
seems like a crappy trade anyway, he would of made out like a bandit trading you a carb setup for a TPI setup
what was your reasoning for wanting to go carb in the first place?
ease of working on it, or to make your car faster(this is an arguable statement)?
if i was you i would make him put the TPI setup back together, and go on your merry way to buy an actual setup you picked and payed for, then if need be sell the TPI setup on here, people will pay good money for one

Re: Your thoughts please
I would love to keep the tpi on the car but im way out of my league. I don't know the engine in the car so I cant it to tune right. I keep fouling plugs and even flooded the cylinder so bad fuel was shooting out of the exhaust manifolds. Knowing my luck I washed the rings. Anyway I want to keep the tpi for another motor that I know or even may try to build myself with the help of box wrench dvd. That way I can tell someone who tunes a chip for me what I have, you know bore, cam ect. but for now im going carb and run the Shi??? out of it. GO OR BLOW.

Re: Your thoughts please
i have done this plenty of times, the wiring needed to run the car witha carb set up is very minimal so its not like its rocket science i take the loss.
