Ocean city, MD May 18 - 21
Hello, All...
I was in Ocean city, MD last week for "Cruisin' Ocean City and was shocked (disappointed) at the number, or lack of numbers, of 3rd Gens. I know i didn't see all 3,400 cars, but throughout the 4 days I was there I only counted 7 3rd Gens, only one convertible. My '88 is currently not on the road or I would have driven it down... was anyone else there?

I was driving down US 1 South on Sunday and wondered where all the old cars were coming from as they headed North. I did see three 3rd gens, 2 Camaro's and a GTA, pulled over to the side of the road with a couple of guys looking under a blue IROC.

“The 2017 edition of Cruisin’ Ocean City welcomed 3,300 registered vehicles to the resort,” he said. “Only cars with registrations 1976 or earlier are allowed to register. We stopped taking applications in the early part of April and considered the event sold out.”

I was aware of the date restrictions on the registered vehicles, I was surprised at the low number of 3rd (and 4th) gen Camaros in town for the event.

I was not able to make the spring meet this year, but am looking forward to being there for the fall meet. I am not far (45 min), but working at a hotel, weekends are hard to get off in the spring.

The Fall 20th annual Endless Summer cruise is Oct. 5th through 8th in Ocean City MD.
It should be fun and crowded as ever with cool cars and decent people. Though there are only about 3,400 registered cars there will be somewhere near 10,000 cars that show up this weekend.
The weekend to stay away from in OC is Sept 28 to Oct 1st. That is the VW weekend and it is full of rude punks in all kinds of rice burners, audis and non air cooled VWs. This cruise was intended to cater mostly to air cooled VWs when it started. Now lots of trouble makers and arrests, more than the Harley weekend and Classic car weekends combined. Now the locals and most others clear out those 4 days. To each his own, but it is out of hand.
Hope to see some more 3rd gens in OC Oct 5th to 8th. Nice crowds and old school rides.
