I'm planning on coming too. I won't be staying overnight but I'm planning on hanging out.
How is the flyer distribution coming? I keep a pile in my car and truck and put them on the windshield of as many 3rd gens that I can find.
Anyone want me to send them the file?

I-88 starts at 294 and goes east. I will probably take that all they way to sterling. Depending on the weather though, i hate having my car out in the rain. Damn leaky t-tops

Directions for all
Okay, I'll start for the Peoria guys. Then anyone coming in on I-88 will come the same way from Rock Falls.
Peoria Crew, Go North on Il 40. It will intersect with I-88 as you are coming into the South Side of Rock Falls. It's a straight shot up Ill 40 for you guys.
From I-88 get off at Ill 40 Exit & go North, Right for everyone coming from the East.
Destiny, You can take I-80 East till Ill 40 exit, about 12 miles After Princeton. Go North, follow further instructions.
From Rock Falls, heading North into town, go Straight through all Stop Lights. Cross Rock River Bridge into Sterling. At Stop Light for 3rd Street go Right (It's a ONE WAY, lots of them in Downtown Sterling area, so BEWARE) Once on 3rd continue East through residential areas for about 1.5 miles. When you get through the S-Curve where the road becomes 4 lane you will want to make a LEFT at the Stop Light (Look for Speedway Gas Station on your Left) That will be Freeport Rd. Go North on Freeport Road for 6.5 miles. It seems longer, but it's not, watch your odometer. As you near my house you will come down a long hill. Watch for Penrose Road Sign. At the bottom of that hill you will turn LEFT on Penrose Road. Go about 1/10th of a mile and it's on your LEFT. Look for the Thunderbirds in front of the Garage, and a Big White Cargo Van in front of Corn Crib. There's a circle driveway, Barn, etc. It's an old Farm house. Any questions, call me 815-632-7175.
It's really easy to find just be patient, there's only 3 or 4 turns to make depending on where you're coming from.
Bring a lawn chair too. My X cleaned 'em out when she moved out!
See Ya Soon!

How was the get together?
I'm sorry I wasn't able to show. I was all ready, had the car all shined up the night before and in the morning my wife woke up feeling like sh**. Ended up spending the day at home taking care of her.
I hope there was a good turn out and that everyone had a good time.
Are we going to shoot for one more yet this year? I hope so.
I would like to see another somewhere around the Starved Rock area again. Pretty centrally located and the fall colors should be awesome. Let me know if I can help plan something.
Later!

Not a big turn out, but still had fun.
Had a little heating problem 5 miles from Chris's house, but after Vic drove out to bring me some water (Thanks bud!!!:hail
after radiator fluid poured all the way down the street!!
A simple 160 degree themostat solved the problem and drove home trouble-free.
Thanks Nikki for the ride in the car, it was cool!! I loved it.
The car show was great. Ask the other guys, every time I saw a GTO or anything that might be a GTO, I took off for it. Parents probably should of pulled their kids out of the way when I had a Pontiac "locked in." LOL
A big thanks to Chris and Vic for organizing the event and I talked to Chris and we would like to do one more run. Maybe the Starved Rock area again???

Well I won't be planning on driving to a meet that far away again. I got about halfway there, and called Nikki only to find out that about 4 people showed up, turned around and went back. Yeah, a couple of you have good reasons why you didn't show up but, all I have to say is- What does it take to go to a meeting that has been planned for several weeks ahead of time?
Mapquest gave me a different route. It would have gotten me there, but I didn't see the post about the directions.. I only stopped in Aurora to use a restroom and get some gas/munchies. But turned around once I heard I was wasting my time.

What does it take???? Good question. I would guess commitment for one. I realize that things come up. Sometimes it's outta your control. Other times you shouldn't commit to saying your coming unless you're sure.
Soulrev, thanks for the effort at least, I take it you don't get this far out in the boonies much
I just felt really bad for trying to have this, and when it finally happens barely anyone comes.
A Big thanks to Nikki, Jeremy, Nick, and ? Jeremy's friend. You all deserve a BIG Thanks for driving so far just to hang out in my yard and B/S. I really do appreciate you showing up.
T/A's ruled for once.
3.8-------Take care of this one!!! and watch for the POLICE @ 120mph
We should try for one last get togrther in Early October.
The State Park by LA Salle/Peru was a good/pretty location, I'm up for that if we can get a group to go................

Well, I had car trouble on the way up and still made the trip. What's everyone else's escuse? Especially HrdRockA4305, last I knew he was going to sell his Camaro for one of those cars from the blue oval company. (Nice car, but just gotta give ya a hard time Dave)
I had a good time that night anyway. I turned around and went to Blue Top (Nick told me to go there and call him when I got there) I saw Frankie walking around and got his attention, called Nick and then me and Frankie went to Miami Subs and waited around, Jeremy shows up, then we went to the open house. You know.. That place everyone seems to show up at every Saturday night? Nick calls it home? Yeah. Lol.
