Hey xpndbl3.....How much was it to remove that ac/heater core? my ac compressor is broken and i wanna remove it by summer. That thing weigh like 40 pounds? Is it easy enough to do it yourself?

Yea,
it was easy enough to remove all that stuff. You just have to make a steel firewall piece where the heater/AC stuff used to go. It definately removed some weight, although I just bought a heater only setup which weights 47 pounds including all the ducting and blower motor, so I'm putting that back in because not having a working defroster sucks around here especially since IL has cold nights and windows like to fog. It was cool not having any of that stuff to mess with but now I want it back.

Although I should mention that the non-a/c box like I have takes up a LOT less space than the A/C & heater setup does and I needed that space for stuff.

Well it definately would be worth swapping from the A/C and heater style box to a non-a/c heater only box. It will allow you to free up a lot of room and weight while still keeping your heat....that would be the best choice..

Steve
