lookin for quad city third gen owners to swap info with
Update!!
just wanted to throw in an update on my winter project since i havent responded in a while because im so busy!! Well after i had tested the car around xmas time with the new motor i wanted to pull it out for a few reasons. 1 the engine compartment looked like crap. Im not running the stock fuel injection tbi anymore so I carefully seperated the ecm harness away from the car along with the computer. Now I have all the wires I need and all I have to do now is loom them up! Reason 2 is the clutch was slipping but i knew that was going to happen. Every time i was hammer it in any gear the clutch would slip motor would rev and the car wouldnt go faster lol. 2 i found that my cam wasnt very good for my setup so I new that I should get another and while I was doing that I should take the time to repaint it up all nice. 3rd I was tired of looking at the rusty looking headers and dull brackets so I sandblasted them all. Now they are getting a slick powdercoating job. While I was doing this I new that I needed to do some work on my holley to get the best gas mileage. So I milled out a passageway on the bottome of the carb and plugged a few holes and boost referenced my carb for the blower. This will allow me to run a powervalve again and get rid of that stumble off the line which i really dont have, having a stick but hey its nice to have good throttle responce. I am in the process of making a guide to do boost referenced mod now. My cam came in from comp so I degreed it and found that it was off due to my old timing chain so I bought a new chain and gear set and everything is AOK with the cam!! I ended up painting it Basecoat /clearcoat 2000 hugger orange and it looks very slick. I applied 3 coats of clear and man it looks wet! Since I had the clutch slippage problem and I didnt want to take the tranny out right away I decieded to go all out. I wanted 11 inch centerforce dual friction setup so that meant a hays sfi 168 tooth flywheel and the blowproof lakewood bellhousing! I have all of that now and IM getting ready to put in on just waiting for my arp bolts to assemble everything. I also have had problems with the hot start problem so I bought a powermaster gear reduction start so we will see how well that works! Im looking forward to buying a powertrax locking unit for the rear and a msd boost timing master since I made the smallest pulley you can get from holley 2.5 inches in diameter. 80 bucks from holley so i made my own! since i put the 4.11 gears in the rearend I also have to swap in some new speedo gears in the tranny, but in the process of seeing what i had i busted the bolt off in the aluminum tailshaft damn! so i will take car of that when i install the new speedo gears if i can get them. Thats about it for now. Ill keep you posted hope to see some of you out this spring and at cordova!!

Kevin,
I am hoping to spend a little time out in the garage this week (fuel line clip and water pump bolts showed up today) if not I will be working on the car Sunday. I want to change my fuel pump mount and pick out a different muffler ( I have a edelbrock right now too loud ). Hopefully I will find a nice set of seats on Sat. last year I passed on a set of recaros. I am also hoping to find a good deal on a low mile vortec long block for my truck (I put the TPI from the camaro on the truck and the small block has 150,000 miles on it now). Stop by anytime but you are right about 11:00 being late we put our daughter down at 8:00 and I have been working 7:00-5:30. I want to finish my strut mount design, redo my cold air intake, finish my headlight mounts and finish the rewire before the warm weather gets here since this will be the first year I have driven the car in 2 years.

I have built 5 efi harnesses and I am simplifying mine right now. I have the cd but I don't think it would help with wiring. I could give you a hand if you get stuck. The Chiltons camaro repair manual has a good wiring section 50X better than haynes.

Well im doin the classic v6 to v8 swap. None of the brackets were able to be reused. All of them had to be scrapped. 2 completly different blocks. Im slowly gettin it strait. Boy my friends hate me right now. Ive been raiding their stashes for parts for months now. Some work others go into numerous piles around the garage to keep them sorted by friend. Found a few i think will work. Going to take them off and get them powder coated. Im not mad after a full nights sleep and a chinese buffet(Royal Wok). Ill post again later

Kevin,
I have the serpentine brackets of of a 91 chevy pickup these would work if you are carbed. I also have the full set of brackets off of a 87 350 IROC the vbelt setup.

If anybody is looking for a set of seats I going to sell the ones from my 87 Iroc they are gray deluxe power seats with around 60000 miles on them. They are in very nice shape.

The BEAST is ALIVE!
I finaly got the car running and movin. It was a long rough road tho. I just want to thank all the people that helped me out over the past year 355ss, Dirttrak51 and Corey.
This car sounds mean as all get out. Im not bluffin at all. Open headers are the loudest ?!%@ on earth. I am goin to need an exhaust system and quick. My neighbors came over and chewed me out for the sound shakin stuff on their walls.
I also am goin to need a hood. More than likely an outlaw z hood for clearance. I cant use a 2 inch hood because the air cleaner sticks up too far.
So just to let everyone have fair warning for the party's this summer. My car is going to be five different colors: Black(body), Blue(doors), Polo Green(GFX), Maroon(hatch) and Gelcoat(hood). So dont freak on me. I just last week got an air compressor that works and maybe by then it will be one color.
P.S. Gasoline, Ethylene Glycol, and Tranny Fluid make the world go round!
