Hey guys just tryin' to see who's near Chicago. I'm in Schaumburg and I'm tired of the imports runnin' around. Everyone and their mothers has one, Literally. So if you guys are near Chicago drop me a line, especially if you're near the Northwest suburbs. We'll see if we can't get together and swap info. I'll even see if my buddy'll pull out the caged 305. SO lets hear it guys, where you at???

How do you like your RAVIN Exhaust??? I work for Midas (in Glendale Heights)and Truthfully I'm considering it whe it comes time to replace the flowmaster I've got. Anyway it's great to see I'm not the only one out here. Unfortunately it's too cold to really do anything now hopefully it'll warm up here in the next few weeks and maybe we can get together and chat about or f-cars, maybe embarass some ****. Keep me updated if you guys do anything interesting, Hopefully I can meet some fellow Third-geners.

I had to replace my fuel pump, and the muffler wouldn't move down far enough, so I cut it off

I'm from Park Forest and I cruise in Orland. I'm always lookin' for new blood. Every one down here has injected cars it seems and get scared when a car lopes a little. I actually saw on guy look at a CRX and say "OOH be careful those can be fast." Did I mention he was driving a 200 ram air with a charger LOL BTW I still hate Mustangs more than imports

Smoky21--you wouldn't happen to drive a 79-81 T/A, would you?
Summers I frequently drive a green 1991 Trans Am convertible w/tan top; its in good condition, but my pride & joy is a black 1991 Z28--its in great condition and sees street duty less often, but only because I'm having issues with the 377.
Tried to post a picture of the T/A but its too big--hope this doesn't post twice

I dont regularly drive one but I have taken my buddies 78' ****ty black with a gold bird on the hood out a couple of times. Is the 377 injected or carbed. Youll see me in an 88' sc rustbucket with an aircleaner stickin out the hood over the summer. Im still lookin for a waterpump with accessory bolt on it.

Its injected. Its actually a stroked stock bore 350, not a de-stroked 400. Its mismatched, though--I've got 10:1 TRW forged pistons, comp Xtreme energy 274 (230/236 @0.050, 0.480/0.490 lift), World Products SR's (yes, with the smaller valves), & a stock TPI with a cleanup port. I will be looking into better heads (I love the AFR 195's but they're AWFUL expensive, I'm gonna look into Sportsman's, they can be had for ~$1000 new). As far as intake the miniram looks good, but at ~$1300 with fuel rails is insane--I'll probably be going with a converted LT1 intake or convert a victor JR to injection. I wish my county (cook) didn't emmissions test; as much as I like fuel injection its too f*cking expensive; $500 for a good carb and intake and I'd be done with it (of course, then I'd need a solid cam, lower rear, and looser converter--oh, what a dream). Sometimes I think I should trade for a '68 Camaro (then I see the prices)

Does the camaro have a good paint job? You can always put show car insurance on it. It doesnt cost much more and youll have no emissions ever. just tell them that you dont have a trailer to bring it to shows so you can drive on the streets still. I heard that American family doesnt restrict miles either.

Its in awesome condition. I looked into show car insurance w/State Farm; they said you're allowed to drive it to shows but only to shows; I don't want to be resricted like that (lets say Murphy's law catches up with you and you get into an accident cruising around on a day with no shows going on. Its concievable that you'd have a stroke of incredibly bad luck and the accident was your fault--the insurance company could deem your insurance invalid and you're left uncovered and wide open to a lawsuit).
I've heard of re-registering the car every time you get the emissions notice--you just send the flyer back saying you sold the car, write "Peter Pan" on the title, go to the currency exchange and say you changed your mind and you want new registration.
I don't like any of these darn games you gotta play though

I'm way the hell out by Rockford. It'd be nice to find some people a bit closer this way. Takes me about an hour to get to Schaumburg.

Bill, Elk Grove Village. '89 GTA 350. Very close to you, and Tim.
Pretty much stock right now with the addition of 1.6 roller tip rockers. Didn't cost me much for them so I threw them on there with the engine order. *grumbles about cracked blocks*

hey guys, I usually frequent McD's, and Streets. If you see a Black Camaro with the superwing and an ugly azz twin turbo daytona hood...I know the hood blows....But anyway it would be great to get some guys there on one of the Fri. or Sat. nights and see what the **** has for some good 'ol SBC power. I know most of the jackasses that go there and what most of them have under the hood. So if you guys wanna meet up there and try runnin' somethin let me know and I'll see what info I can get for ya. It'd be nice to see some more 3G's up there since most of them have been, for lack of better words, ****ed up!! The only thing I recommend is not racing the 4G's unless you break 10's....there are a few here that do. Granted their on the bottle but they'll cheat ya outta your cash. We'll talk some more and figure out a good day/time for us all to meet up there.

I wish it wasn't so bad up there. Im tired of getting kicked out and the cops handing out tickets and idiots constantly screwing around up there. I fear for my car all of the time. I remember like 2 years ago a lot of people would go up there and keep a low profile, hang out and then go racing. NO one would bother us. Its the total opposite now.
i'm in schaumburg too i also hate all the imports and i work at their hang out streets of woodfield
so all weekend when i'm working fri and sat nights i see the bad ricers drive by. if you wanna chat email or IM me

I'm sad to say The car's losing most of it's lope. I just bought an LT1 intake and TB for $75. So I'm going to injection!!! Actually I'm happy cause te car doesn't have a choke an she runs like **** when she's cold. Keep an eye out around schaumburg and neighboring towns for a black camaro with crappy paint, no badgeing on the sides but Z badges on the rear, The "superwing" on the rear, and the ugly azz twin turbo hood. It's als got gold 86 iroc 16" wheels. Hopefull next time she's seen it'll be sooth starting and idleing.

Ok here's the dilly. I'll be up there about 8:30 /9:00. In a black camaro with a twin turbo hood and a super wing with gold early Iroc wheels. Chances are my other buddy will be up there also in his white 92 RS caged with ET Streets on the rear on Torque Thrust II wheels. It's got a red interior so it's kinda hard to miss. If you see us stop by and say hey.

FakeZ, did I buy gaskets from you? Do you live on Wise rd? I lost all my PM's and Emails so I don't know who I bought them from. LoL. Would like to get together with a few locals when my GTA is finally done. I'd feel stupid showing up in a little Escort beater. I've had this car for nearly 6 months now and haven't got it on the road yet!!! Grr....I keep telling myself "tuesday", "tuesday". Soon I will have it, MWAHAHAHAHAA!!
Yup that's me!! I actually got my car up and runnin' since Nov. so I'm quite happy other than the fact that it's carbed. In fact we were out last night and I met a guy with a Black Z that was quite nice but unfortunately I didn't catch his name. But to whoever you are I give you props on the ride and i'm forever greatfull for the info you provided me with. I will infact be going over to Opel on Wed. to talk to Ted and see if he'll be able to help. I'd still love to see pics of your setup as we spoke of and i totally understand not wanting to pop the hood at McDonalds. BTW were you asked if yu wanted to run?? I had guys come ask me and they didn't like the fact that I turned them down because of my slipping trans. Oh well. It was great to see so many third-gens out a once. There were actually 6-8 cars there at one time (Alot in this world of ****). Hopefully catch ya again Next weekend.

I think if I replace the tranny I'll have a whole new drivetrain! lol. My project turned out quite a bit more expensive than I wanted. Total into the car is about $3,600 right now. Including the cost of the car. But about $1,200 of that is rims/tires/stereo!
