New Guy here

I just wanted to say hi all. I'm a first generation lover from way back, but now my lil brother wants to start hot rodding. He will be 16 this year and he wants a 3rd generation. So I figured it would be good to find out as much as I can now to help him learn about Rodding. I'm looking into getting him a 90 or newer TA. And building it into a pro street. Any help would be great.

Thanks. CC

Welcome. You sound like a great big-brother to have. I dunno about a pro-street for a 16 year old, but...

I ran a 78 pro street TA when I was 17. My old man said if I was old enough and smart enough to build it that I should be responsible enough to drive it. He was right! Now I must pass on my knowledge to my bro and be there to guide him and teach him all the important aspects of rodding.

Thanks CC

pro street a 3rd gen definately will take a LOT of fabrication and time.

Not to mention fabricating a back half section for the car ought to be pretty fun in itself. I would like a big brother that could weld up a backhalf for me too....

Just make sure your little brother has full coverage!!! Not to mention the bluebook value on most 3rd gens is like 5,000, so be careful what you invest.. Oh, and welcome to the boards

Hey man welcome.... So you want a 90's TA huh? Well I dont have a 90's but I do have an 87 which will be perfect for your pro-street project. It has a 6 point roll cage already installed and most interior parts are still there. Needs some body work but still is a stout car. Has a really tight fitting locker in the rear. let me know if ur interested. BTW its actually a friends but I'm selling it for him. You can e-mail him if ur interested!!geibeheart@hotmail.com

Welcome
Jason

Thanks Everyone.

Fbirdta878787 I'm interested! Email sent.

It's been a while but I have built 3 Pro Streets in the past. The only problem is that they were all first gen Firebirds. I've never played with any 3rd gen. at all. So basicly I'm just looking for some pointers on these cars. Like what to watch out for, problems, and sugestions on P/S one of these cars.

Thanks CC

well i know one major problems for thirdgens when pro streeting them is they like to twist the frame alot, so make sure you do alot of extensive tightning on the body so it doesnt twist so much due due to all the torque
