Those in Iowa

What do you guys think of a get together in like April for a BBQ. We could do that after the track opens on April 19th at earville or just have a get to gether at SUPER CHEVY Show or B Bops or something. I will be at B Bops in CR every thursday and saturday regardless and the chevy show is June 4th at Thomas park in CR.

I used to live in Iowa, before I moved to hell. I take it by CR you mean Cedar Rapids? If you do have a BBQ I will probally go, since I will probally be going back there for my spring break.

When is your spring break?

We had one yesterday. Turned out to be a beer drinking fest more than anything else. But we had some awesome food there. The temp is back down, but when the rain is over BBQ is on again!

HMM

8 people bring like 6 packages of hot dog/brat buns and whatever your favorite chips are. Have some of your people bring their favorite pop and chips that should be alot of secondary food. I'll have some of my people bring plates others brats and others still pop so it will be good. I will get the beer.

I'm assuming Earville isn't a typo of "Coralville"?

Only have lived in CR for 6 months or so. Still having trouble with some parts of town

Would be interested in the meet up. April 19th right? Are we meeting at a racetrack or something?

Deimos... You just hang out at B-Bops every thursday and saturday?

We need to get all the f-bodies in CR together to to on a "r i c e and pony hunt" some friday or saturday night when it warms up a bit.

I'd love to see 20 or 30 f-bodies up and down 1st Ave. :-)

(Thank goodness CR doesn't have a cruising law.... yet....)

You guys that can make it to Cordova are spoiled!!! I went to KCIR down in Kansas City and got charged $15 for all night, but man-o-man was that a crummy track!!! Most other good tracks that I've been to are $20-$30 for an evening of racing. Heck, in Eastern Iowa they charge $15 an evening to grudge race down the main straight at MAM raceway as a street racing style flag starter, no finish line trap, and no timers!!!

RAINED OUT!

Yea, yesterday me and few friends went up to Cordova, got there about 12, and left there about 1:15, but there was like only a dozen cars there, got 8 runs in, and we also got a rain check for next week, so it was hell of a deal...i finally got to race my '91 firebird 5-speed, and my dad raced my '87 formula....so it was alright until the rain, oh well....but i like Cordova, its a nice track and all, but Earlville's is like only 3-5 years old, and i love the staging lines, and at the end of the 1/4...but for my buck id rather go to Cordova....so you say you will be up there next saturday??? ill hafta see if i work, or ill just hafta get it off.

Got the big 1000 post so figured I put it on the home "corn fed" court Sat sucked at CFR, got 2 passes then rained like a biiitch. Got the car down another .5 and finally got triple digit mph 13.09 @ 103mph, same 60's as last year so my suspension mods did'nt do ****, but installing the manual steering and electric water pump helped BIG TIME-there's some cheap hp w/ actual numbers to feast on for ya'll. 13.5-13.6 last year to 13.09 & 13.12 Frickin 12's are teasing me but I got a few more tricks for this low compression hulk of iron. Anyone comin to the night race April 26th at CFR 7pm to midnight, they have TT in the afternoon 1-5pm, bring your money so I got something to feed my kid with

I wqs

I was thinking about going that night, but then again. I don't have luck there at night. I have traction problems and tend to break part so it is a tradition I don't want to keep going.

I have zero traction at the night races-I still run my slicks, but all the sand and debris that comes off the radial street tires makes it VERY interesting when launching and to about the 1/8mi.
