Welcome aboard. You guys got any snow up there yet? I'm looking forward to getting the snowmobile out and heading back up around there, hopefully within a month or so. Thread Starter

Newberry is in between Sault ste. marie and Marquette, eastern upper penninsula.
I had the snowmobile out once already (well not mine my dads) he has an RX1 and a 1M 900efi with a 159" track, can't wait to ride that one! If you plan on coming to the Newberry area snowmobiling I would be happy to show you the best ride areas.
Does anyone go to the St. Ignace car show?

St. Ignace is great, Chevy is there, representing with some toys (saw the ZL1 camaro there! 4thgen bigblock) also saw car and driver there back when they had that yellow prowler with the matching trailer (now everyone has one of them matching trailers lol ). cruise night is the main attraction, nothing beats zipping around in 2nd gear when you'd normally be in 4th ;-) oh don't roast the rubber cops everywhere, the croud likes to hear the engine rev though.
Motor City Mike- Any weekend you wanna go sledding in the eastern U.P. I'd love to tag along or if its around Newberry I can show you some UnReaL places just shoot me an email rokztar200mph@yahoo.com What kinda sleds do you have?

Checking in from West Michigan here. My first 3rd gen. car I had was in 1990. It was a 1987 Firebird Formula 305 Carb. Loved that body style and had been looking for one for awhile. Just purchased a wrecked 1992 Firebird Formula 350. Bright red with black spiderweb wheels & ttops. 50,000 original miles, absolutely mint condition. Like new under the hood, like new inside, like new underneath. Got sideswiped down the LH side, ripped the front bumper cover, took out the LH fender & LH headlamp assly. Scratched the LH door & quarter. Light damage, drove the car home. Purchased a new LH fender & headlamp assly, still looking for the 91-92 teardrop style front bumper cover. (anybody have one?) Mine is w/o ground effects and w/o fog lights.

I am up in Flint, Doubt I could make any trips any time soon tho.
BTY, St Ignace is a HUGE show, I have been up there when they had an est 100,000 spectators and 3000+ cars.
You may have seen my car, I have always parked in front of the restaraunt that looked like a train on the waterfront.

1983Fbody i think people are getting sick of seeing my car everywhere so you can check the sig. also check newstands for the next couple months as i have a few articles coming out through primedia and hopefully will have the car together for the 04' autorama at cobo hall.
woodward is always a great time, unfortunately the main day has become to comercialized but the weeklong events are always a blast and a great way to send out the summer.
st. ignace is considered to be one of the great shows of the year. i have yet to attend but i plan to get a caravan together this year to check it out.
we have had a few gatherings here with some of the michigan members and a few from canada.....last year we tried to get something going but interest was lacking so the idea was dropped. we were able to get a record showing of thirdgens at the 2003 camaro superfest in ann arbor michigan and we look to beat that number this year so all of you should try to attend.
as far as the gratiot cruise, my organization Motor City StreetRodders helps put on the south and central gratiot cruise and is the main organizer for the north gratiot cruise. this year we have alot of huge plans making it a weeklong event so be sure to check it out.
anyone who is interested in getting a gathering together or looking for michigan car shows to attend just let me know. i have a huge list of thirdgen owner contacts and show locations.

we got no snow now that it has been raining for the past few days
... I am glad too, I hate snow, I like to look at it but it causes more problems than anything IMO.
Besides Christmas is over... we had snow for Christmas
I figure all you other MI-ganders did too

Ok, so this PROBABLLY DOES belong elsewhere....but i'm gonna post it here anyways! dammit! lol!
Ok, so I just found out today (12/31/03) that I need a new engine for my 1987 Trans Am....yes, it sucks......so much for the holidays! Anyways, if anyone has either a good condition 305-355 at a reasonable starting price of 2000.00 or lower, then PLEASE let me know. My T/A is my daily drive and the only car I have and it just died on me out in Fowlerville on Sunday night!
I'm open to anything. Thx! -Greg

that's funny you brought that up....it just so happens there is a guy on here who is looking to get rid of his setup. 6SPEED84Z28 has his motor, 6 speed and dfi for sale all for a very reasonable price but it is a bit more then your looking. you might try emailing him though as it would be an excellent upgrade to what you have if you can scratch up some extra cash. if you can't check the junkyards...alot of tpi motors for cheap. i know i sold my 5.7 for 750.

I live in Midland (Saginaw area). Although I am in Lima, OH for college I would meet up for events. I attend Ignace/Woodward every year.
Studying what I love, Degree will be in "High Performance Automotive"
We should all meet at a dragstrip when its nice again. MidMichigan/Milan/Lapeer. Theres one in Ubly ive been to also. Not the greatest, but you get a lot of runs in!!!
