How soon do you need to get rid of it. I would be interested in buying it. Maybe we could work something out.
I'm not just selling it b/c of the tranny, I was planning on selling it anyways to get something else. I was originally asking 6500 now I'm thinking of asking 5 and I think that's the lowest I will sell it for since you can get trannys for cheap. If not then I'm just going to have it fixed and sell it.

for 5,000 it had be very very clean meaning very little rust, great paint, good running condition and great interior. that's a high dollar amount on a 305 with that much mileage but if it's in good shape that is low mileage and well worth it. around here you can get rebuilt 700's well done for $700 with core and sometimes cheaper.
good luck with it.
good luck with it.

hey now.....
all i was saying is if your asking top dollar it should represent such. pictures don't say much, however it does look nice and if it's like you say it is i'm sure you should get close to it. 70 k is a low mileage amount for a driven 91.

Jeff- Good points there!
Honestly though, for $5,000.00 I may as well get a 350 HO to replace my 305.....
I'm not trying to knock ya or anything, I just want to point out that even with all you're stating about the car being true, most people looking for a 3rd gen can get what you're offering for less. Yes, it sucks for you in that aspect, but dont forget that the people mainly who are going to be interested in buying it, are going to be interested in it for what it is and thus will be looking for 3rd gens. In otherwords, they're not(for the most part) going to be people who just happen to come across it while looking for a used car. They're going to be people seeking out a 3rd gen to buy, and chances are that many of them know the right people to get the product you have for less.
On another note, a very late happy birthday to you!(I'm March 7th)

true, however the fact it's a 92 changes things. 305 92's are sometimes sought after more so then say a 88 iroc...depends on the buyer just as the condition and price can be factors.
it is low enough mileage that you can sort of expect more so then an equally maintained high mileage car but it still has mileage and high enough at the point which things start to go wrong.
when you can pick up cars under 50,000 for slightly more you have to take those things into consideration. again the car is only worth what someone will pay which is why you should ask what you think is right. just don't be surprised if you have to hold on to it until the right buyer comes along.

Tranny's dont go out for no reason. The only time i've lost a tranny is [FULL MOTHER ??????? throttle] driving responsibly! Never under normal careing driving situations.
Let her fix the problem and drive it again...she won't want to sell then.
Cutie,
When you get it rebuilt, build it to the hilt; i.e. shift kit, vette servo, kevlar bands, stall converter and a warranty!
