Gear Help!!!!

I live in Roselle 60172 and I have a 1986 Trans Am with a 9 bolt Brog-Warner rear-end, I bought a 3.73 with the LSD all hardware included. I had a freind that would have done it for me but moved away and now i'm stuck with the 2.77 gear in there. Does anyone know a shop that would do it for cheap???

My dad and I have been getting to know one shop over in Villa Park/Addison area that's good at everything as far as I can tell. I'll ask him if he'd swap the gears for you, but I'm not positive. He seems to like using his own parts, but I'll ask him anyways. I'm going in there sometime this week to get my new tires put on.

Just curious where you got the gears from and how much they cost you? I have a 9 Bolt as well and I am getting pissed off looking at gear prices. I wish I had a 10 bolt.

I bought it from randy's ring and pinoin. www.ring-pinion.com However you have to call them becuase you can not order online. I got the ring, pinion and bearings for around... I want to say around 250 or so? I forgot it was a while ago, The Ring and Pinion it self was 180 i know that i forgot how much the installing kit was but give them a call they do have our 9 bolt rear-end gear

Actually ya know what, you'd know a bit more about this than I would to talk to him. Give him a call. The company is High Tech Auto at (630) 543-8990. It's off of Fullerton over in Addison. Ask for John and tell him that Dean told you to call; I'd guess he'd know me from that but if he doesn't just tell him I have an '88 TA and I'm coming for my tires soon

If he's willing to do the work and its a price you'd be willing to pay, PM me and I can meet you somewhere and ya can follow me to his place or something.

I know this is a late post but, a friend of mine got the rear end on his Mustang done for $150.00 labor and it was done right. Very quiet. He had it done in Rochelle IL. He brought the parts to the guy and it was there for a day. I can get a phone # if you are still looking for a mechanic to work on it for you.

I am pretty sure Scott will be at work tomorrow. I will get the # from him. It may take a day or so to get it. If he is on Vacation, I won't have it till next week.
