Getting rid of my Iroc-Z
Well the day has come and It is reluctantly but I am in too deep with this wanting a first gen so here it goes........
I am selling my 89 IROC-Z it has a fresh 350 tuned port only about four miles on the motor. It has ............
4 wheel disc brakes
9 bolt rearend
notchback hatch
GTA rims
black leather recaro interior
dynomax headers
700r4 tranny
B&M megashifter
T- Tops
91-92 ground effects
3'' flowmaster catback

I bought a 86 TA in November, but it kinda turned out to be a real piece of crap. Your iroc is really really sweet, so if I end up having to sell my TA I'll make you an offer. Just letting you know.

just getting kinda bored with it! I really want to start working on a 69 camaro
I figure my car is pretty close to the way I want it and the challenge is over time to start over again. Of course maybe my car wont sell and I will just keep it and work on doing the last of the stuff I wanted to do with it.

Good luck finding a 69... and good luck affording it.... honestly we would all like a 1st gen but your better off with the 3rd. A guy I know around here bought a 69 Z/28 in pretty decent shape for $13,000.

im with Knyghtmare. the only cheap 69s ive seen arent finsihed and they need a lot of time and money to complete. i did in fact find a 69 camaro at Iola car show/swap for 3,500 and all it needed was a good paintjob because it was in primer. but i like my thirdgen 10 million times better, and it doesnt even work
if u do wind up sellin ur iroc, dont jump on the first one you see. do some homework and save money.
p.s. my neighbor has a yellow 69 for sale. no motor or tranny. PERFECT body. but needs paint. interested? let me no (pm)

my uncle has 1.5 1st gens. I say 1.5 cause he's still building one of them. The built one is 68 camaro. The paint job is so tight. The paint must have cost a fortune. Its purple with a gold under coat or something. Basically any time the light hits his car the paint gets this cool multitonal effect (three shades of purple). The car he's building is a 69 firebird. That ones gonna be a street rod.

no.....its completely up to you of course but we have opinions and advice that we need to express. mine being stated in my last reply. if u think u can afford a first gen, then go for it. otherwise stick with the 3rd gen. if you reall want to sell your car bad, dont just put it in here, put it in the classifieds or in autotrader or ebay etc.
good luck

i've got a 67 i'm restoring...and i used to think it would be the only car i'll ever really love, but i do really love my thirdgen and probably won't get rid of it when i'm done with the 67. just ask yourself is it worth it? it's hard to find them, and the only reason i have mine is because i got a killer deal way back, just when they started to get expensive. good luck on whatever you do and it should be cool because either generation are fun!

Just for G's
...I'd say keep it. the parts and mod's on that car make it unique to you as it's owner. I cant tell you how many people(no offense to ANYONE here!!!!) would change your car to fir their ideal's & own visions, which is perfectly cool, because thats what we all are in the process(weekend projects are'nt) of doing. But having supported you from when you first posted about getting rid of it way back during last winter, all I see is your vision which has come to life. Just ask yourself, are you willing to sell it and risk the high probability that someone else will change something that you've worked so hard on?!?!
For example, my 87 T/A has been a PAIN IN THE AS5 for me sometimes, but I'll tell my fiancee at any point in time, that someday we're going to have to let a daughter of ours(not preg., but we'd love a daughter later down the line) take it to her prom.
...and then I'll tell her that that's really the only thing i'll ever have to do a lot of thinking about concerning someone else driving it.

Good luck selling it ICE, glad you made it run again before offing it.....remember not too long ago the city was gonna tow it away because you didn`t want to go get another battery to move it
that was some funny ****. And as for everyone else...at least he`s "keeping the faith" and sticking to the f body! he could be going into a fox body or something...Hey Ice, post a link to your new work in progress when you get it going. Good Luck

So far I have done some work on it. I have added a hood scoop to it and am getting the car painted. I am putting a normal hatch on it and trying to trade the notchback hatch for a cowl hood. I am still looking for a new set of headers and y-pipe but other than that the car is almost completly done. It looks really beautiful in its new paint but it is still not done with painting yet so no pics yet sorry but soon I will unveil the new and improved project black ice -------- by the way if you guys could not figure it out I was asking high on the car because I knew it would not sell untill it was done and when it is done trust me it will be worth it. -------------
My newest update is I picked up an 86 sport coupe a week or two ago to use as a daily driver so I dont have to drive that damn chumpstang anymore!

Id say you should keep your car. Save up some money to get yourself a 69 Camaro. That's what I'm doing, though I probably will go through 15 other cars before I get a 69.

Well like I said before I really wanted to trade it for a cowl hood but I would take 350 plus shipping or 400 if you come pick it up I would really recomend picking it up though cause it is big and heavy.

It was made by a body shop in chicago back in 83 so it would definantly not be stock or a replica. I do not know alot of history on it other than what is writen on the underside of it from the shop. If you are only a half hour away it may be worth coming out and checking it out.
