Looking for a RUST FREE car
I've been searching around half-heartedly lately for a clean thirdgen. NO RUST... mechanical or paint issues aren't that big of a problem. I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money, the car doesn't need to run either
If anyone knows of RUST FREE thirdgen let me know.

I've got a decent one..
Engine has a bad knock and the interior is bad, but I bought it because it was rust free.
Located just north of Springfield, IL

Edit - P.S. It's an '87 Z28 with 5.0L TPI and 700r4 auto - clean title

Let me get this staight, you want a completely rust free 80s GM car in the midwest? Good luck with that.
I do know of a very clean, blue 92 RS hardtop LO3 auto w/ 137K, but they are asking 3,900. I drove it and was pleased, but these cars are really only worth about 1500. It is in Northern Ill. Pm me if you want the number.

My GTA is completely rust free. Great body, always garaged all winter. Runs good, interior is good except for the drivers bolster. Paint is starting to fade on the roof, typical 18 year old paint. Probably a little bit more money than you are looking to spend though. $3500 or so.

Both fenders will probably need replaced and the Z28 hood had some dents in it and was sold. A black RS hood is sitting in it's place. The car was originally white and someone painted it this "custom" teal color. 5.0L TPI engine still in place, but was told it had the death knock, so I never started it. The driver's side door has a little dent that apparently goes with the one in the fender. Both quarters look really good and I have looked behind the panels on the passenger side and it is really dirty in there, but I didn't see any rust.

The interior was removed by a previous owner was nearly replaced by him too....
He put in some carpet (not car carpet) and covered most of the center console with some nice white vinyl. The guy I bought it from said at one time it was a stereo car with wall. They used expanda-foam to fill in the gaps between everything in the rear and left the rear seats out. The dash looks to be in good shape and there are seats in it also. These pics are from 5 mins after we unloaded it off of the trailer and it has not moved since.

Rogue86,
PM me your email address and I can send you some more pics from inside the rear quarters and other exterior/interior shots... I have seemed to reach my 3 picture posting limit here...

I have an 87 Formula T-Top, 305 TPI, 5sp, 4 Wheel disk, Borg 3.42 Posi. It has 2 spots of surface rust on the bottom right of the driver side door jamb. Needs paint and has a couple dents. I had it in the body shop end of May and they told me to straighten the body and take care of the surface rust would be about $500. The interior needs some TLC, but its avarage for a car this old. Also needs tires I'd like to have 1200 for it. I really don't want to part with the car but I just bought a '71 Maverick and I have to many other projects and I'm running out of space and my wife is running out of patience. I live in Marshalltown so I'm not that far away. Leme know

Little bit more than I'm looking to spend. I don't exactly have to have something that runs/drives for what I have in plan. Thanks for asking though!
