Get this '87 GTA out of my driveway.. $2500

I need this car gone, before January, I'm willing to take a lot less for it than I was originally asking. I started a new post to get the price in the subject. From the old Post, edited slightly:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=299645

FS: 87 GTA Hardtop L98/700R4

I am selling my 1987 Firebird Trans-AM GTA hardtop. It has the a L98 TPI 350 with 700R4 automatic. It has 115,xxx miles on the engine and the chassis. Gold GTA wheels tires should make it through the summer.

It drives great with no problems at all. Loaded with power windows, power locks, power mirrors, overhead console, cruise, tilt, foglights(1 has a crack but still works), etc. Black exterior with a tan interior. I just installed a new dashpad. The GTA seats are worn, and the drivers bolster needs to be repaired. It could probably use new carpet as there are some stains in the footwell, but no holes or anything. The entire interior is complete. Has a Poineer reciever and Polk EX speakers all the way around.

Exterior there are spiderweb cracks on the rear spoiler. Paint is pretty good. Just starting to show some fading on the roof, but I bet it could be buffed out. There are 2 small cracks in roof at the usual spots by the top of the window. There are some small hail type dents on the roof of the car as well. It has a few scrapes and scratches but nothing that would require any major body work. New dynomax exhaust from the cat back. It is going to need 2 front tires. The GTA wheels are starting to peel. Has a slight slight miss at idle but is still strong. U joints are starting to go out as well. Little bit of a rattle from the rear end, I think it is the brake pads.

This car would make a great daily driver. I hate to sell it, but I gotta pay the bills off someday.

It is currently in Dubque, IA,

Sawing off the roof came to my mind too. The only thing I really don't like about the car is the fact that it is a hardtop. If it had T-Tops I probably wouldn't be selling it. But then again...might as welll go targa if you are cutting it up.

I can't believe it hasn't sold either, I have it in the local newspaper, TGO, MNFbody, CZ28, etc. Other than park it at Walmart(which I realllllly don't want to do, over the weekend I have no idea what else I can do.

Yea, I don't understand what people don't like about the GTA/Trans Ams. If it doesn't sell at this price I am going to part it out.

YO!

I'm currently in Rapid City, SD. I'm very interested. How bad is the rattle in the rear end?

It isn't too bad. You can hear it in the car driving with the windows open. I think that it is the brake pads on the rear disk rattling. It is a known problem that the tabs wear and they can work loose.

Thank you Chris,

We got home about 7:30pm, without any trouble, car ran great all the way

We can't wait to get into it a little deeper, and have some fun with it.

My kid is 15 yrs old, and I think he was having the time of his life, getting that car back home

Leon.

Congrats on the car. I was actually thinking of a way I could come up with 2000 to buy it to save it from being parted out, glad you guys beat me to it because it would have really pissed off my wife since I have 3 other thirdgens in my garage now.
