Ricers in Third Gen Clothing

All .. I am relatively new to this site and it appears to be a pretty cool site.
But as I read, I have noticed some of the comments people make, seem border line Anti-Third Gen.
Makes me wonder how many people on here really don't own a third gen Carmaro or Firebird and just hang out here cause its a cool site.

Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just

Examples would be cool.

One of my examples would be:
I have seen lots of people as for advice on their third gen, some of it simple issues others more complicated. The response they get from some of the users are , "Sell your call" or all third gens suck because of blah.

Or one of my favorates, which I will be a little vague as not to flame the post directly is that. Oh, this 4 cylinder blah kicks butt agains all those V8 Firebird and Camaros. Which I almost fell of my seat laughing about..
Though it didn't seem like a third gen owner would say this, it sure was funny.

Don't seem like responses of people who really enjoy Third Gens. though.
Thus making me wonder, to we have Ricers in Third Gens clothing here.

Thanks for the reply but you missed the point.
I didn't mean that your car is a 3rd gen that looks like a *****.
I was just curious how many people do you think use this site that don't even own a 3rd gen Camaro or Firebird and have no interest in ever getting one.
Just curious.

Yep..

Actually no.. What I mean is, as a new member I have already seen plenty of people bashing people that post.
And the way they are doing the bashing it seems as if they don't even like the cars.
That is why I was wondering if there were many Anti-3rd Gen people on here.

But your comment makes me wonder, if you loved your cars so much, what happened to them??
Now I am curious... (Stolen, crashed, wife, etc.. )

yeah, I'll fess up I don't own a third gen. Whlie this may be the case, I definitley have certain mutual interests as they do, since they use a chevy powertrain. Definitely a lot of cool people that hang out here without third gens as well, look at V8astrocaptain or Fast355. Definitely do some badass stuff with thirdgen hardware and they don't own a thirdgen. Me, my time is coming where I"ll be doing some badass stuff with thirdgen hardware. And no it's not in a thirdgen.

yes there are a number of anti thirdgens here usually they get board and leave or get kicked out for starting flames all the time and come back under another name until that bores them as well.

I think the biggest problem are the people who "think" they know what they are talking about! this ends up in fights and they base there knowledge off a hand full of junkyard cars they saw with options or "a buddy had one" these guys just don't give up and usually start the stupid remarks on how they smoked some v8 thirdgen or what ever makes them feel big since they got stuck with a POS thirdgen or some way under powered model.

There are guys like that on any site, weather its a camaro/Firebird one or a Neon one their is allways someone who thinks their car is better, faster, whatever .. I have built all my own cars for years so I know whats in them and what they are capable of and I have owned enough stock Third gen cars to know for the most part they arent fast ... but they can be made to be fun cars, and yes some are relitively fast with mods, but face it the 3rd gen cars were saddled with the worst drivetrains ever offered in a camaro or firebird .. 145 HP 305s, TBI, and I know i'll get it for this one but even TPI is a poor system for performance without mods ... understand Im not bashing 3rd gens.. I own a few including a Pro Street T/A I just purchaced from another member on this board , but I understand where the bad rep comes from and why the cars are so easy to pick on ...

Well put, honestly most of us wouldn't be here if we didn't want more from our motor vehicle experience, be it going faster, improving the looks and handling or otherwise being around people who enjoy thirdgens or cars in general. Even though it's not information that's being used for a third gen it's still very relevent to what I'm doing. Thanks to this and many other sites I have a 145hp TBI dog (4.3L) and am making the transition to at least 100hp more hopefully closer to 150hp. It definitely wouldn't be easy or hell it may not be possible without info from this or other sites.
