Madison WI Third gen cruse

My goal is to get a Third gen (or any muscle car i suppose) cruse together before it gets worse out. My plan: Get a lot of people who live in the Madison area to set up a cruse on this thread. Lets say every one meet in a parking lot somewere and wail on some rice, race, or just compare cars and talk about them. So if anyone reads this and is interested, please post and maybe we can set up something. BTW: I know where all the Madison racers meet on fri and sat nights. so like i said, lets all do something before winter comes!!

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

66 caprice, Good enough lol, Its not strictly thirdgen, so dont worry bout it. its cool to see this moving foreword. If any one has anymore ideas that would be great, I was also thinking going to a park and grilling out even. Our only challenge right now is the weather. Its starting to get cold out and that may be a problem for some. This is great, Lets try and get some more people, if anybody knows people who might be interested give them a call or get them to post on this message board. my email is thirdgensc@yahoo.com or pm me
THANKS

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

I've been thinking that it might be best to do this in next spring because its getting pretty cold out, also that will give us more time to plan this out. If anyone wants to help with this send me a pm or an email. thirdgensc@yahoo.com

BTW we can get a smaller cruse together still. joeblue83 and tpimalibu, if your interested in crusing this Friday or Saturday post too.

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

sounds like that would be cool, anyone else have ideas on were to cruse. I like the idea of a grill out. Heres an idea, it's little out there, but here it is. What if we put to together something like " Cruse for the cure". Get some companies(summit, some car dealerships or something) to sponsor a cruse to wherever, have a raffle, grill out, ect and donate all proceeds to cancer research. We could pout out a press release to newspapers, that would get more people interested in joining the "cruse for the cure". Ya, its kind of a long shot but who knows. So like i said, if any one has any more ideas on the cruse; post!

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

Sounds like a the workings of a decent plan. Around Madtown its always neat to bring your ride onto the Merrimac ferry (in spring) and cruise around the backroads a little. Lots of curves and hills and scenery.

If anything is going to happen yet this year it better happen soon. It's hard to heel and toe with moonboots.

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

I'm thinking that a cruse this year may be diffucult now, simply because of the fact its going to snow soon. But its not out of the question yet. I love the idea of a scenic cruse, thats one of the ideas i had in mind. It would be cool to do the cruse for the cure idea, but it may be to diffuclt to pull off. If any one thinks its a good idea, or at least think we can pull it off, give some input. So no mater what, this spring there will be a awsome cruse!

This saterday morning? Sure. What time were you thinking? And where do you want to meet? East town mall parking lot would be an easy place to meet. Cool.

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

East towne parking lot sounds good. How about we meet close to the Culvers.

We'll have to figure out a decent route to cruise. Something a little better than just the interstate. Maybe something like 51 north to 19 west to 12 west and then off some other highways I'd have to look at a map to find?

I'm open to anything.

Do you think we can get at least 10 cars together this quick?

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

I threw a quick note on Craigslist to see if we can get a decent group to roll.

I have a few calls to make to grab some other joes. We may have a decent crowd.

It should be a good time. We'll definately be making sure the heaters are working. But cold air usually equal more power...

Re: Madison WI Third gen cruse

How did it go? Not the greatest. It was cold, rainy and lonely. I was the only one who showed up. Due to weather and poor scheduling it was somewhat expected.

One thing i noticed while waiting in the parking lot, everyone who thinks their car has ANY sort of power, regardless of if it does or not, feels it necessary to rev when they pass an old car that is parked. Everything from salvaged Honda's with 747 qualities, to diesel trucks that look equally salvaged.

Odd.

Anyways, we'll meet up with you guys next year.
