Hello everyone, new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I have a '91 RS with the 305 TBI and 700R4 trans that I have owned since July of '92. It has been sitting for a bit waiting on some attention that I can finally start on, so I will be asking a lot of questions. Anyway thanks for your help in advance.

for the warm welcome. I am from Morris IL right now, and I grew up just west of here in Marseilles/Seneca. While my car is far from being road worthy yet, I would love to still show up if you guys have any meets or cruises so I can meet you and also offer any help if you have any projects going on/coming up. Speaking of which, I believe the first cruise night here in Morris is June 13th. They usually have one a month through September/October. Every Monday night they have some old cars gather in the lot behind Wendy's also. Again thanks for the welcome!

Thank you 1986, I am not new to wrenching, but there is a lot I have not had to do yet, so I will have some questions. Has anyone tried to set up some days if someone has a project we can get together and lend a hand? I would do it in a second!

Thanks DJ i hope to get started here soon when this crappy weather breaks. I'm off work starting on the 13 so it would be cool for a bunch of the IL area guys to get together for a tune up party comlpete with a KEG!

 

Sounds good to me....I can bring the beer brats! I am good for Saturday and Sundays...can also do anytime Thursdays as I am off that day as well...

Glad to see a forum like this. I am moving from MN down to Antioch IL in a few months. Would love to get together when my ride is running. Let me know if something gets put together.

 

Welcome 90frbrd! We can have a get together/meet and greet without the car running. It would be cool if we could maybe plan a cook out at a park somewhere so we can get to know each other, and also make plans with whoever needs help. Good way to learn some stuff you might not have done yet. Anyway, if you need a hand with something let me know.

Don't know if any of you are interested or not, but we have a big cruise night here once a month. I will find out and post when next months is, there is usually 300-400+ cars every show. Plenty of food and drinks downtown.

hi i am from moline IL i have a 1985 t-top f-41 camaro i have had it for 5 years it has a 305 motor in it and i am trying to lift it with a s10 frame

 

Good luck with that, unfortunately you will not get much help doing that on this forum. Every time some one mentions a 4x4 Camaro they get flamed. As long as you aren't ruining a perfectly good or rare car, I think its kinda cool.

 

WHEW WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A TERRIBLE THING TO A CAMARO?? I love Trucks 4x4s at that. But man ur in the wrong forum to discuss that kind of stuff here like jeff91rs said! I mean its cool and all but seriously!! ive seen limos 4x4'd out as well as a 2nd gen and just recently saw a corvette and a 87 rs lifted up bout 5 foot tall. goin to the mud pits out where i live here in the stix. People were all gathering around it at the 711 while the dude is gettin gas gettin ready to go to the woods. I just shook my head and paid no attention as i smoked the tires on my 86 IROC. darn shame!!
