I still plan on doing a stop or two assuming I can get a set of stock iroc rims or similar to drive on it, bias ply slicks and skinnies won't make for a fun trip.

Hey thanks for the reminder! I need an alignment too. I have been entertaining the idea of adding nitrous so i won't be the slow pony, but I am already praying my stock rear axle survives the trip.

I see Justin has the 9". I want one so bad. How did it fit? Does it work well with the T56? If you need the underneath of your car detailed in the hotel parking lot on Power Tour let me know "wink wink".

By the way I am just razzing you I am not the seedy of a character. Well at least I do not think so :-)

 

I just have an upgraded stock 9 bolt not a 9 inch.

 

I might do a couple of stops if work doesn't get too crazy. Where in IL is DuQuoin? Anyone getting down to Birmingham should check out the Barber Motorsports Complex. I think it is actually is Leeds if I remember correctly. If you are interested in classic motorcycles you will love the muesuem.

yes it is.....wooohoo, just got my exhaust redone and wound up redoing my whole power steering setup due to a broken bracket......went for a shake down run on a benefit poker run a couple of weeks ago felt good to get out after the winter and got me pumped for the tour to get here.

Dave hmmmm N2O ....lol, we may do Chattanooga also not sure yet.

Common do the whole thing. You can stop at my old mans house with me and rest on the way back. It is about half way. I have almost got Brad talked back into it. Last year there wasn't much Thirdgen representation, it is our duty to carry the Torch.

Here is a video from last years that gives you a small idea what cruising down the road for 3-5hrs a day for 7 days with 2000+ hotrods is like lol......there is every type of vehicle you can imagine as you can see from this video......yep even some third gens

My girl and I will be doing the whole tour in the junk below. We tried last year and made it all the way from DE to WI when the 9 bolt started banging. Turned around the next day with our fingers crossed and made it home, missing the whole tour. We aren't missing this year!

 

Du Quoin is a pretty small town north of Carbondale Illinois, I live about 4 miles from where you guys are stopping and just meeting for a little bit

 

I've done 4 Long Hauls, but now that I'm retired, and my income is reduced, I probably won't be able to go any more.

I sure have some great memories, though.

 

I'll be in Bowling Green for sure. I'm thinking about driving to Chattanooga. See you guys at Bowling Green

At like 5:30 we walked around again and there were a lot more 3rdgens then when we first got there.
Too bad most people on this board didn't post pics when they said 'i'm going' so i have no clue if it was someone on here are not.
I saw a blue camaro with ghost flames, a black 88 gta, a white with blue trim stripes camaro and a whole bunch more further out in the big parking lot.

I took a pic of the main stage, you know the one sponsored by GM's performance division. After i got home I realized the irony

This is what I was cruising in this year since the 'Bird wasn't ready...


And we broke off from the Power Tour on Monday morning to go visit Rad Rides by Troy (my co-worker, who drives the above Caprice wagon, knows the shop foreman of Rad Rides) and that place was awesome! We got to have lunch with Troy and watch a little tv in the shop while eating. I also got the green light to take some pics (see below links) and got to see the 3rd gen Camaro that they are working on, and WOW! That Camaro was SO amazing to see up close! It's going to be insane when done!
