Once again we're renting out the Cordova, IL track for a spring rental. Looking for any local people who would like to make it out to join us for a good time. The flyer shows a few of the typical cars we get out at this gathering from the midwest f-body association. If anyone also needs chassis tuning, or carb tuning help I'll be on hand along with running a quick drivers meeting for new drag racers. It's a fun event every time we have it, very laid back.

 

also will be running hopefully a $5 buy-in bracket race series for fun along with a quick 8 shootout possibly for the big dogs. 100% payout back to the racers.

I doubt my car will be ready to race but I am down for spectating

you'd get e-mailed a confirmation letter with a certain number and your name. Without that letter you won't be getting in without paying or being on the list.

Bump! The rental is this saturday! Will finally get to see what the car will run in the 1/4 mile. I will be ecstatic at high 13's, but I not disappointed with low 14s as its really is just a 260hp B-body LT1 with CAI, shorty headers, and cat-back. Technically only about 30hp more than the car made in stock trim. Not sure what the headers/cat-back/CAI are adding to it.

 

Is it 45 to go spectate plus an additional 5 dollars a person or 45 to race?

$5 to spectate for older than 10. Children under $10 are free.

So I walked up to the black second gen 4 times. First time a dude was under the gray thirdgen rear, second time there was a chick with her thong hanging out checking timing (my old lady caught that I didn't). Third and fourth time there was two bigger dudes and two chicks. Which one was you...

 

lol the girl checking timing was ally. That's her black 2nd gen. I was one of the bigger guys, not the 6'8" one but the shorter one. Too bad you didn't say hi. I was also under the grey thirdgen trying to get it to hook off the transbrake on nitrous, didn't have much luck so he packed it in early to go buy a fresh set of slicks for tomorrow for more testing.

 

Nice dude I was the fat guy in the blue camaro shirt with my girl in the pink shirt and the camera. The gray thirdgen ran decent but it had alot more in it. We have pics of the launch...

Off topic for just a sec--

I know Tonica is wwaayyy far from you, but--Wednesday around 10am, ther was a Camaro there that looked like yours!! I almost stopped to find out, but was pressed for time. Was it yours???

nope mine is sitting in the garage with an empty engine bay waiting for me to finish the motor up and toss it back in. Still about $1200 short


Ya that grey camaro has all sorts of issues, I'll get it sorted out for him sooner or later The rear wasn't square in the car either so it wanted to walk on him, hopefully we'll get it all setup for his first E85 race series in 2 weeks.

 

had a blast, best time my car has ever ran. 13.59 @ 102mph.

I ran 11 times, without even trying. It was a blast. One guy claimed the hot-lap record of 24 runs from DuronClocker, the new record is 37 runs.

MFBA is renting out the track again in October. There have been past videos, DooD the guy who usually does them might do one again I haven't asked though.

How many times did you run? I didn't spectate much. I should have though, would have been nice to see more cars run than I did.
There is always October.
