I've struck a deal for an 89 Bird, and my wife hates it.
Its a 2.8 Auto car that's been hit by a Buick, and then took out a deer. Then it sat for years. I'm bringing a trailer. This could turn out to be a donor/parts car, but I would love to get it back on the streets in one piece if I can. Its an 89 with t tops and that's good enough for a start.
I'll update this thread if the deal goes through and I get it home. Wish me luck!
I've got the tow dolly on the pickup and I might bring home this forgotten bird tomorrow.
For the record, the only cars I've ever bought that my wife reminds me of were the worst ones, towed home in some fashion. The Fiero. My second (of 3) 66 Toronado. The 77 Starfire GT. The 27 model T. She can't let me forget these.
I've towed home at least ten cars, usually with **** poor results. This is salt country after all. But I'm a car junkie and I don't want to change.
The Starfire GT five speed was pretty cool, but was crashed and salt rotten. Boo.
Any good stories anyone wants to share about dragging a dead car home?
Its home, and I own an 89 bird with T Tops again. For better or worse!
A battery, repairing mouse damaged wiring and new plug wires got it going again on starter fluid!
Next we drain the full tank of 10 year old gas and see what happens.
I've built cool cars out of way far gone machines.

I traded a box of 6.5 PRC rifle ammo for a Firebird. I love it. This is where it has sat since 2015. I found a condom and wrapper on the floor and I will withhold comments about that! It has 70,000 on the clock. 2.8 automatic with t tops. I'm loving it.

New Brake parts have arrived. It has a full tank of 10 year old gas that need to be dealt with too. I think I have found a replacement fender locally as well.
I replaced the headlights, cleaned out the nests and leaves, deodorized it repeatedly, and fixed a bunch of chewed on wires. We also have a fender in progress.
Here are some pics of the headlights, and half a pressure washed hood. The Drivers headlight doesn't sit right, and the wiring harness on both is three wires instead of the two my car has.
Today I got to go for a ride in my new white Firebird for the very first time. I had the tops off and driving without tops was even better than I remembered. Thanks for all the help and support I found on this site.
