I wish the GTA was white. I could get the TTA, but then the engine would be wrong, emblems, steering wheel, from my car. I might get a red GTA, disassemble it, and repaint the body white, to match my car. I bet the interior is wrong too.

No 3rd gen new, only used, like on eBay.

I just got this off eBay...It has the front fender vents, so I'll probably fill them, to match my 87 GTA.

The details on the kit are amazing! Seams under the body, stamping of the pans..I like it a lot!

the steering wheel and interior in the GTA is going to be the same as the TTA. If this is incorrect for it to be like this (besides for the back seats shouldn't have the gap like the TTAs) please let me know and include pictures of what it should be. I'll forward it on to Greenlight but I was unaware that they really had too much of a difference.

From what I've seen, all TTAs had the steering wheel radio controls, whereas it was optional on GTAs And, of course, the early GTAs didn't have steering wheel airbags. They started in '88 or '89. I just know that GTAs started in 87, before airbags. Possibly the could include both versions of steering wheels, to cover all years?

Dunno if TTAs had the digital or analog gauges, but I know GTAs had both, manual or digital. Mine has analog.

Let's see...You already covered the gap in the TTA rear seats vs the GTA seats...

Are the TTA front seats the same as TTA front seats? I know the GTA had a different seat from the Formulas, TransAms, and Camaros.

A few first production 87 GTAs had a different side view mirror, but it didn't last very long.

The 87 has different crosslace wheels from the 88 up. I've gotten the suspicion that TTAs got the 87 version wheels, but haven't been able to confirmed that yet.

If I think of others, I'll postan update list.

Alright I'll tell you what the Greenlight GTA is probably going to have. They're still working on it which is why I asked for pics and some input from those with GTAs. I personally can tell you just about everything that's different on a TTA from a GTA but I dunno what's correct for the GTA. Keep in mind that everything I say will be included isn't a definate answer necessarily since I don't work for Greenlight but I'm working with the guy doing the cars. What I say will be included is what he has on the prototype and I didn't inform him of a difference on. Also remember they're trying to keep the cost down so they're not going to cover all the differences between the years because that would cost way too much. Most of the things will be correct to the 89s because they'll be basing it off the TTA that they're doing in conjunction with the GTA.

Ok lets start from the beginning. The steering wheel will have the radio controls but I don't believe it has an airbag.

It'll have analog gauges like the TTAs. Now I'm not sure whether they're including the boost gauge on the TTA, and if they do put it on the TTA I dunno if they'll put it on the GTA. Chances are he'll leave it of for the GTA since that should be a fairly easy minor change.

The seat gap I mentioned to him about the GTAs not having the gap. Whether he'll be able to change it and stay within the budget I don't know. In my opinion it's a minor detail that if he can change he will.

The front seats will be this style: http://carmotorsports.com/images/Sea...%20rt%20ms.jpg I don't know what color interior they're going to do on the GTAs.

The mirrors will be the same as the TTA, which is 89 GTA mirrors. I didn't know they had any other mirrors so it'll be what you commonly see on a GTA.

The crosslace wheels are the later versions with the dimples at the end. The tires are Goodyear Gatorbacks I believe which were stock on the TTAs.

Again if anyone can think of anything else post up and let me know or send me pictures to show me. The help that you provide will be what makes the model better.

It has taken me FOREVER to find a pic of these mysterious mirrors, but I found a set a guy put on his 89 TTA.

My car had 93 TA seats in it when I bought it, and I want to find a GTA/TTA correct set....

I coulda sworn the radio control steering wheels had airbags, but I'm just going by pics I've seen.

The TTA is Basically a GTA with a different engine and rear seats. The front seats are the same. I think all TTAs had leather seats (I know cloth was an option, but very few actually got clothe, like the non t-top TTAs)

Might wanna double check on the wheels. if they are tyring to make a correct TTA. Like I said, it looks like the TTAs got the 87 non-dimple style wheels.

The boost gauge was a simple change on the tach portion, so that's minor. You couldn't just leave it off, or the tach wouldn't be "correct". I'm not sure, my tach would have room for the boost gauge.

On my '85 1/24 model, I'm going to hafta find a crosslace style set of rims for it...Might hafta go with some from a 2nd gen TA to get close.

Do you have the TTA windshield banner? I'm lokking for a god close up of the pics on the end. I'm making my own, and want to make sure I don't copy the TTA one. Since my car is white, it would be like a ***** if I did that. I can make my own, just holding off making it, until I get a good pic of the TTA one.

First off, a lot of the info you are posting is WRONG. The 1989 Transam's did not have airbags. Second, the TTA's did have special dimple style wheels. Phoenix graphics sells the Pontiac banner.

Some of this I'm not quite sure what you're asking about but I'll still go through and comment and then maybe you can go into a little more detail. The mirrors won't be the "mystery" mirrors since it would be pointless to try to appeal to such a small crowd.

Actually leather was the option on the TTAs and the cloth was considered standard. I know a little weird since there were much more leather cars and only 187 cloth cars. Also the TTA was more than just a drivetrain swap. Many parts were specifically fabricated for the TTA in order to get it all to fit. Things were modified around it in order to get a good setup, like the front airdam is trimmed for the intercooler scoop, the battery and intake were switched, the hoodpads are different, the 1LE suspension, the baffeled tank, the way the sway bar mounts was TTA exclusive. I can go on and on and on about the little things that were changed from experience of buying TTA or GN stuff because they don't make TTA specific stuff anymore hoping it would fit only to find out it doesn't.

The TTA had the dimpled wheels. Trust me I have seen about 30 different TTAs in person including 2 of the 3 original pace cars (the one owned by GM and the other being at the IMS Hall of Fame, Emerson Fitipaldi the winner of the Indy 500 in 89 owns the 3rd and if you want to count it the guy who does the lights for the pace cars bought one and did the proper modifications to another car to make 4 pace cars).

The boost gauge I believe did require the tach to be changed a little. However if you just took the boost gauge part out it would look close enough to count. Here's a pic showing how the boost gauge sat http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/Pr...692fbinlay.gif

At the ends of the Pontiac Windshield banner is just the 1989 Indy 500 logo which looks like this http://www.geocities.com/johnsonindy...gos/logo89.jpg Not quite sure what else you'd be wanting to look at.

What a way to make your first post, full of negativity saying I'm WRONG...

I never said I was 110% correct. On the wheels, I keep seeing TTAs with non-dimple wheels.

The dimple wheels were not "special". That part I know. The 87 wheels had no dimples, and I'm suspecting the TTAs got them too.
Are you sure about Phoenix Graphics? It's not listed on their website, only the emblems.

I'm sure on the dimpled wheels. The cars were pulled straight from the GM line in 88. The wheels were put on by GM not by PAS, so they got the dimpled wheels just like the other 89 GTAs. Phoenix graphics sells them but doesn't have them listed on their site. You'd have to call them, but I dunno why you'd want the banner with the indy emblems on the ends (unless you're just gunna put the Pontiac part on).

True on those early 87 mirrors. If I come across a set for the right price, I might put them on my 87, since I have a 87.

I knew cloth was standard and leather was an option. I just meant to say leather was the way most of them were made. Only a few actually were built standard. Sorry for the miscommunication.

I thought the TTA banner only had the winged tires? Not the whole Indy logo. Just going by vague memory though. Not surprised if I'm wrong. I just wanted to make sure I DIDN'T copy it on my white GTA.

I keep finding non dimple 87 wheels, but in black. I found a pair of rear 87 wheels, but they have slicks on them, and he doesn't want to sell them without the slicks.

I could easily do just PONTIAC, but that leaves a lot of dead space.

I was toying with a version with the PHS logo.

Cool. No change of me copying that for my car.

I think we've hijacked this model thread long enough. If ya want, start a new TTA vs GTA thread.

I just got this off eBay...It has the front fender vents, so I'll probably fill them, to match my 87 GTA.

The details on the kit are amazing! Seams under the body, stamping of the pans..I like it a lot!
