Thinkin about a GTP as a beater

Im looking at the older ones. There cool cars and can go very fast. What do you guys think? Anyone have any ratings on them? HP/Torq? thanks guys

I don't know any numbers off hand, but those things can be made pretty darn quick Al. I would say go for it. It would definitly make a great beater. Lots of room for friends and enough power to hold its own in a street race. I saw a video of one beating the crap out of a 5.0 fox body stang. Yeah, definitly nice cars.

the GTP's are good cars. The biggest thing to watch is the trans, get a trans cooler to keep it cool and you should be fine.

Exhaust,chip and a pulley you could be running 13's

the newwer ones have the 4T65E... i dont know boys... im thinkin something more "gas friendly"... maybe subaru or dare i say it.. .civc.... if i get a civic, it will be the biggest ***** ever to crawl the streets of NJ. ill put a big sign on the back that says R!CE!!!

I bought a new neon last year. my payments are 220 a month and i get 35-40 miles to the gallon.
the thing is fun to drive too. i got a five speed ES model.

by the way i dont know if the newer ones are better but my wife has a GP GT and its a pain in the *** to work on. even normal stuff is a chore. try to change the spark plugs. or get to the oil filter. and ive replaced the damn door handles at least 5 times.
