uti or wyotech

well i graduated from uti inaugust of 2003 and must say that the edeucation i recieved was very good, as long as you pay attention and dont screw around. you will be fine it was very easy, but then again most students there do not apply themselves so you stand out if you do. i currently work fo Infiniti that is where i started as soon as i was done schoold. i was accepted into the audi Technicle traingng program but decided not to attend and returned to new england casue it is where my family and friends are i am very satisfied iwth my decision to attend uti. if thats any help

I doubt anybody could say for sure which is better. I see advertisements for both on tv all the time. I was interested in wyotech until I saw how much it costs. I believe it was between 26k-34k for your 18 months of classes, depeding on which you take. And you have to pay about 200 a month for living there on campus.

i'm sure UTI or wyotech is alot better school to go to though. Did you learn about all cars or just GM cars? I don't want to go to school for 2 years just so I can work at some GM dealership...

hey-
if you think spending $25,000 is going to buy you a brain, be my guest

you learn by working hands on in the industry, racing the clock, not reading textbooks and putting together motors with a professor watching over your shoulder

thats why the GM ASEP was great IMHO, you go right to a dealer and learn for real, not behind a desk (and get paid for it)

most community colleges offer general automotive that will focus on all cars

i took the GM route, because in the end, a car is a car, isnt it? (and the fact the doors that it opened for me)

keep in mind, that all schools will tell you you will be an A-tech or a Master Racing Engine Builder as soon as you graduate, but they are just blowing smoke up your ***

how do you know they're just blowing smoke up somebodys ***? You never went to either of them so you have no idea what they're schooling is like or what they teach and how they teach it.

they didnt get this way with an 18 month training program, no matter how rigerous it was

see what i am getting at?

i know you went to GM ASEP. But you never went to wyotech or UTI so you can't comment on their schooling. And I know nothing beats hands on experience, everybody knows that. But I'd rather go to a school and learn about all cars then just GM cars. I don't want to spend the rest of my life working at some GM dealership fixing up old ladies cars when they mess them up. I'm not saying that's what you'll do all your life, but that's not what i'm looking for. I'd rather go to wyotech or UTI and learn about engines and power. I'm not looking to be taught how to take a stock engine apart and then put it back together right. I want to have the knowledge to add power, and i want a job where I get to do such things.
