Hi, I'm new to this site, but not to Camaro's. I'm really looking forward to getting one as my first car, and I'm going to a friends house and may get a REALLY good deal on a Third Gen, but I really need to know what I'll be paying in insurance.

I'm 17, under my parents insurance without any.. uh bad things on it, and I'll have a good student discount under State Farm, does anyone have any ideas for a price range for me? I know its reasonable, because some 17 year olds around here have Third Gen's.

Thanks to anyone who can give me an answer, I really appreciate it!!

Re: Insurance Question
I am 17 too and I am under my parents insurance and my dad is the primary driver to get a lower price. I think it is around 300 for a half year.

Re: Insurance Question
Wow, thats a lot better then I was thinking. People told me it qualifies as a sports car so like 5000+ a year (or whatever is similar to a Vette, which is know is a lot more then 5k a year) was in my mind.

Re: Insurance Question
liability means the type of car really doesn't affect cost of insurance....to an extent. If you get collision, then that matters, because now your insurance has to pay for your car's damage that you do to it.

That being said, i'm 24, and i pay 350 bucks a year (regular plates).

Re: Insurance Question
I'm 17 and I have State Farm, with liability. It cost $120 a month, but I got the hook up. That's with the car under my name and all that.
