what gears does it have? probly 9 bolt with either 2.77's or 3.27's. I would look for a 10 bolt with 3.42's. else buy a 12 bolt with 3.42's but its not necessary to buy a 2000 dollar rear end for a car that wont break a 10bolt lol
Power mods i'd do full exhaust from headers to good catback. delete the cat if you dont need it or get a highflow one if you do.
TPI kinda sucks but you can still go quick with it. i'd get aftermarket big tube TPI stuff if you want to stay TPI and smog legal. Else get a stealth ram from holley
get into tuning and make a simple chip for it. you'll pick up lots of torque and some power from simple mods to the chip that you can do.
auto trans needs a converter...2800 stall is nice all around unit for street driving and some strip use.
suspension mods help traction and handling. always good to have.
For bolt ons that will get you a low 13 second possible high 12 second car in great air and slicks/drag radials.

another thing you should know. the tpi intake setup gives up on power around 4800-5k rpm. there is no reason to run the car to 5500-6k rpm before you shift. shift it at 5k or you're wasting time and risk hurting your motor.

How fast are you looking to go? You want fast? Spend the 3000 on a supercharger, then spend another 2600 on a rear end that will not blow up on the continous launches you sound like you'll do with new said power. Then spend another 6000 and build a race ready 383 with all the bells and whistles....oh yeah, spend 200 bux on an Ostrich so you can real time emulate, another 1200 if you dont already have a laptop to do said tuning. Ooops, forgot the transmission. Upgrade your 700r4 slushbox because that will be destroyed also with the launches your bound to do and upgrade to a TKO500 or TKO600 to handle the new power and probably another 500 bux on a SPEC Stg 3 or 4 clutch. After that, maybe upgrade the stereo?
No offense really but you should not ask blind questions like that. Have a target or goal in mind. Asking what can I do to make it faster would drive someone to respond with a high dollar upgrade....not that I would do that You could always just rebuild the engine and enjoy driving it for awhile.
