Where do you guys go that has a decent selection of third gens? The few junkyards in my area have 2-4 Firebirds/Camaros and I've already picked through them all. Hopefully you guys can help me out, and preferably the junkyards are somewhat close to me.

 

Theres a real nice one in Hackettstown, NJ. Its right off route 80. When I was there about a month ago, they had about 10 3rd gen Camaros.
Its called Columbia Too junk yard.

It may be eaiser just telling us what you need. There are a few yards on Long Island that have quite a few 3rd gens

 

I'm looking for:

Power Doorlock Relay
Intact Black Headliner, or atleast the cardboard
Black Sunshades
Center Caps (Silver Eagle)
Possible Black Rear Plastics (Have original grey now)


That's about it actually. I just like going through the cars looking for parts I need or are in better condition than what I have, its like a treasure hunt to me.

 

Is this a u pull it type junkyard?

 

Yes it is unless it is something big, like an engine which they will pull it for you.

What kind of t-tops are you looking for? I have a set of glass ones with the case.

 

I was there today.Most of the 3rd gens look like they have been there for quite some time and are stripped clean.If you go just watch out for the sticker bushes as they are overgrown around alot of the cars

I need to find a good yard in South Jersey. The one I always went to had a couple of 3 gens, but I was there the other day and they are all gone!

Dirke's, which is on the Black Horse Pike down near the Hamilton Mall. Last month they had an '89 Iroc w/ the 350. I got the TPI off of it. I went back last week and the entire car was gone. The other 2 3rd gens were also gone.

I'm a few minutes from Shorty's. Haven't been there in a month or two.

 

They usually have a few f bodies both 3rd and 4th gens although most of them have been there for awhile.I usually make a jersey junkyard run about once a month.I hit dirkes,shortys and albion u pull it in berlin.

 

Albion u-pull-it only has one 3rd gen Camaro and one 3rd gen Firebird. The Camaro had most of the good parts taken off. I'm still trying to find new yards that I haven't explored.

 

There is a guy in Brouge, PA (1/2 Hr South of York, PA,) that has several camaros and Firebirds, in the third gen year range, and some 4th gens to. Check out my forum lower on this page (GOOD JUNKYARD IN MY AREA is the title.)
