Re: BEWARE!!! CLICK IT OR TICKET

The massive rust cloud from the impact shows the '59 was severely weakened before the crash. Maybe they planned it that, way maybe they didnt. Its not a good comparison to older cars on the road because so many of them are in so vastly different conditions

Do remember 3rd gens were one of the FIRST American cars to receive a 5 star front impact rating back when those ratings werent given out lightly, or simply band-aided with more aigbags in weak zones like it is today

Newer cars like the 2010 camaro are smashed so badly even on small impacts as an extra safety feature. The chassis is designed to crush and absorb the brunt of the impact sending the energy through the chassis instead of transferring it to the occupants. 3rd gens have an early version of this with the break away engine cradle (prev years had welded on subframes) and controlled collapse front frame rails. Ever seen the front of a 3rd gen after a hard front hit? Looks like an accordion. Same thing the newer cars do, except they are designed to do it from more than just directly forward

Moving back to the OP and gov't stuff, we drive on the road with a privileged license. Their playground, their rules, nuff said. Same thing when you go to a strip or road course. Their rule or DQ. Try not wearing a helmet down the 1/4. You can complain all you like about it stepping on your civil liberties or blocks your vision or its your life if you screw up, but its still their playground

Dont like it? Tough, submit a complaint to the track, or lobby your congressman. In the mean time you play by their rules or your pay the penalty

The issue really is not the seat belt but the "HAVE TOO" is human nature not to like been told what to do....SOoo tint your windows DARK and buckle before he gets to your window if you dont want to buckle while driving. at the end of the day we will do what ever we want no matter what and then get pissed all over again when we get caught
