from what i've learned since i've owned my car, the best place to take your car is your own garage. hit the Tech boards here for any info you need and ask questions. there are tons of people here who know what theyre talking about. people just need to find the confidence to do things their self

it doesn't help my trans am isn't stock, most ppl i take it to look at it and not know what to do with it =/ I took it to fonse performance and they've been AWFUL. For being a performance shop and having everything in their possession to rebuild an engine..i'm not sure they know what they're doing. Too bad there isn't someone that specializes in just 3rd gen cars and their nasty temper tantrums..

invest in a good quality digital camera. that thing has helped me countless times. i'm 19 and i can rip my whole engine bay apart and put it back together with my eyes closed. learning to work on cars is just like learning anything else: repitition and patience.

Re: Anyone know a good thirdgen shop?
Theres a good shop around here thats about an hour from Marlton NJ (if that is your location) Its in Horsham, PA its called Injection Connection. They REALLLY know their crap! Had tons of performance problems with my 3rd gen IROC and I could not figure it out nor could anybody I talked to. Took it to them and they had it diagnosed in a few hours. They are awesome, but an hour is a little far for a shop. They are also a lil pricey, but I guarantee they will fix your car. If all hope is lost, I would check them out. If you didnt take it apart by now haha
