Car value
Car value
Hello, have a 1986 iroc, 305 4 barrel with a 5 speed.
was a barn find and I am 2nd owner. 20k documented miles. Just had full tune up, brakes, tires ets. What is this car worth? Thinking of selling

Re: Car value
Most common year with the least desirable engine in it. I would say around $20k because of the low mileage. But on the other hand there are a lot of middle aged guys who don’t know one from the other who are gobbling these things up for crazy prices. All they see is Iroc-z. Throw it in the pool and see who bites.

Re: Car value
Post pick of RPO codes, What paper work do you have with the car? Need a ton more pictures than just 2.

Dang. Where are these barns at?!?!?
Only ones around here have nothing but old hay bales and maybe a broken bottle

Re: Car value
The car looks good in those two pics (recent pics?), but that's not nearly enough info on which to determine a serious $$$ value. I suspect we're not yet getting the full story on the car. Is that the original paint? Did the car spend most of its life in that warehouse? How about underneath; several well-lit pics of the undercarriage/suspension would be very useful in determining the car's resale value, as would any maintenance documentation.

Re: Car value
If the undercarriage looks good, yes, I would start at 20K and time will tell. Being it has the base 305 is going to hurt some.
p.s. I bought exactly one of those new but no t-tops and an auto. Traded it in for a 88 IROC 5.7 that I ordered.

Re: Car value
You cant tell from just a couple pics. Post detailed pics including some of the underside if you can. Youre asking people who are very familiar with these cars to appraise it with hardly any pictures.
Off the top of my head I can tell you the third brake light on the 86 turns some people off. The 305 also is not desirable, because its a 305 and its not even a Tuned Port car but, it does have t tops which a lot of people like and it is black on black with a stick so youve got that going for you.
Truth be told, if its as clean everywhere else as it looks like from the couple pics you posted, its probably worth 20-25k to the right buyer, maybe a little more. Guys on Facebook will constantly laugh and try to jew you down on price but those guys are usually broke and are trying to keep em cheap for the next purchase. I paid more than 25k for my 27k mile car but its an 87 (third brake light in the spoiler and has the Tuned Port 350 )and I would do it again without hesitating. Considering I usually buy Chevelles or older F bodies, its a real bargain for as nice as these cars look and drive. I think theyll continue going up as long as this country starts going in the right direction. I dont think ill ever sell mine. Ever.

Re: Car value
Hard to see in the few pics we have but looks as if some of the pulleys and brackets could be touched up with rattle can, and not cleaned enough
