The "CREDIT GODS" bestow kindness upon teenagers these days. Either that or mom and dad! Not to diss though, i just wish my parents would have bought me my first car(or bought me anything!).

Well I got my first car from my mom, since she bought a new one, she gave me the old one... It was an 1982 Firebird TransAM, 305 Carbed, with a 4 speed stick. I worked to get it running again (it needed a new clutch, and some new gaskets as it was leaking oil pretty badly). I then got it running, and drove it for a total of 3 days, when I got into an accident with a drunk driver, it was pretty much totaled... I then went without a car for another 5 months or so (I had to drive my mom's 94 Dodge Caravan, YAY!!)
I then saw my present car sitting around the corner with a for sale sign on it... and being my old one got totaled, and insurance didn't pay me anything for it... my mom decided she would loan me the money to buy it, but I have to pay her back half ($1000).
I have to cover Insurance and Registration Fees myself, along with gas, but it's worth it to have a nice car! and hey that's how the world works anyways.

70% chance of rain saturday and 60% on sunday so going to sears point is not looking so good right now, well see what happens though. As far as the tranny, ill have it down once i get a flare nut wrench to get the last cooler line loosened. Hopefully by the end of the day ill have the new one bolted up, and have it all finished by tomorrow.

Looks like rain, and I'm still broke... so count me out either way. I was really looking forward to it tho. Maybe we should organize something else, somewhere else, some time soon.
If anyone does go, good luck with the rain and have fun!!

Hey i will check this board again later today. I am still up for going unless its pouring out in the morning. They won't run at all unless its perfectly dry, I think, is that correct? I want to know if there is anyone still planning on going if its NOT raining in the morning? If I don't here from anyone by this evening I will figure it a bust and sleep in.
PS I don't know what time zone the post clock is on its 3:00pm right now.

VJ I am up for making a track run anytime the weather permits so hit me about a week before and we will see who is interested. I want to see if my GTA can take your modded 305. I am curious to find out what she'll run I am guessing my run should be in the mid to high 14's somewhere.

yeah, im curious to see what my car will run after the new tranny and 9.5" 2400 stall converter. Hopefully the stall isnt too much for the peanut LO3 cam with 1.6 rockers. If it is, oh well, i should have a 350 in there within the next year or two. Im praying for 14.6s though.

I was looking into building a ALDL Cable, dunno what I'm doing really... Need to download some software to use it with too... any help would be appreciated... I'd love to drop by some time, but Concord is pretty far...
I've been reading a lot about Data Logging, and PROM tuning lately, sounds like a lot of fun, just need to get started somewhere...

Well as for getting out, I do, when I have money for gas.
I really am interested in coming out there... I need to stop by work today and get my check. When would be a good time, for you? When are the other guys coming by?

i might be able to help you out with the springs if it is during christmas break and if im not busy, I installed Eibachs 2 summers ago along with struts, shocks, etc. Its a real PITA. Although i didnt use a spring compressor and i had new poly A arms bushings installed and they are alot thicker than stock so it basically took a whole day just get get the A arms in with the springs.

Hey VJ thanks and it probably will be about that time. Maybe weekend after Xmas or something I dont' have a solid schedule either but your experience would be a great help. I pretty much know how its done, but I have never done it myslef. I have all the proper tools, two floor jacks, jack stands, spring compressor, impact wrench whatever we need. I am thinking 1.5 hrs for the rear and maybe 2-3 for the fronts. I'll buy you dinner and beers afterwards. I'll PM you when the time approaches.
