I'm down. Let's just pick a day and time and get this thing together. There's one guy with a black camaro that parks at the apartment next to me. I can see his car from my window. So... maybe one of you guys are my neighbor!!!

Anyway, I live in Concord. I know a few people in Danville and Livermore that would probably be down to meet. I'd even take off work for this. (Hopefully that won't be necessary)

OK Darkwolf see now you started something so start making a plan so we can get a cool 3rd gen gathering on an upcoming sat before the weather turns to coco. Any little auto shows happening in the area in the next month that would be a good point. Otherwise we can just pick a park and get together do a bar-b-q and some tire kicking, or another option is we can meet at a diner or bar and grill tell some lies then go for a group drive or not. Figured I would throw a couple ideas. Hey if someone has the space at their house maybe we could gather at a members house for a bar-b-q. Ok I threw out a couple ideas any one have a clear suggestion or want to organize this gathering. I don't know of any near events worth going to of hand and I don't have a hostable house, but I can sure think of a few parks or grills we could meet at if no one has a better suggestion.

I need to check my calendar at home, I might have a turkey motorcycle run on that day, otherwise I am in. Where and what did you have in mind GOONIE? What about San Ramon we could meet at Arlen Ness' new shop its practically a mini museum then we could drive somewhere for lunch or through the canyons out to niles or something, just throwing out ideas, any one else whos interested chime in with suggestions. ANother thing that would be cool is I think (will have to check the schedule) Sears point does wednesday night drags that would be fun and a total car environment.

So I gave my car in to get painted last Saturday. I won't have it back by November 15th but I'm still down to meet you guys. Any other people interested in postponing the Concord meet until maybe Thanksgiving weekend? We could use the time to drum up more support to have an even larger turn out.

If you guys don't think so then we can stick with Nov. 15th. I think we should start brainstorming places to meet though.

Whether we meet on the 15th or possibly on the 29th I think we can meet at a church parking lot near where I live. I don't remember the name of the church but if you're driving up Monument going away from the freeway, just turn left on Meadow Ln/Oak Grove Road. And it's a couple blocks up on the left. There's a large parking lot and I don't think anyone will be there on a Saturday.

Any other ideas?

why dont you guys go out to Sears Point/Infineon Raceway for the Summit Bracket races on November 30th. It would be great to see some more thirdgens at the track. Im going to be installing a ProBuilt Street/Strip 700r4 and ACT 9.5" torque converter during the break, and if i get it all finished before it gets dark on saturday (29th) ill be at the track. I just hope it doesnt rain that week, since i go to school at Cal Poly that is really the only week i have time to install it.

I am up for a Sears point trip. If we do that we should meet outside say in vallejo and drive in together. If something is happening this weekend the 15th speak up. I haven't heard a definite plan yet. The drags sound like fun though I think we should shoot for that. Who is supposed to be organizing this get together, Darkwolf? Someone make a solid decision. I have one vote for Sears Point on the 30th.

Hey guys!Im up for the sears point meet on the 30th!Gooniez28 is cruising by my house on sunday(23rd)just to shoot the breeze and get him set up with a laptop data logger, ill see if he wants to go.I'm gonna have to ride with goonie or something cause my tags just expired and i dont think ill have new ones by then.im still trying to get a few more local boys to swing by my pad and join the crew,so hopefully a few more will join up by then. hey vjo90rs8 since your in vallejo maybe goonie, omcrider and i can meet up with you down there the shoot through the marshes to the track!drop by my website you guys, and shoot me an email with your ideas and we can figure out how to play this.ill bring along a camcorder and get some footage of our crew at the track, and i can post it on the website.maybe if other third-gens see that we are getting organized they may be more motivated to join!
hope to hear from you guys! "THIRDGEN REPRESENT!"

Hey darkwolf I dropped by your site and it was still very cumbersome to use. The pictures you post are coming in the wrong orientation and hard to see, I think I tried to click on the sign up thing and It froze on me. I am up for some local action though. Maybe I will try the sight again. Anyway I don't think we should try to switch web sites to organize this, lets stay right here with this post so we don't lose anybody in the cross over. As far as meeting up on the 30th I am down with whatever, I can meet at darkwolf's place or vallejo its all in between Oakland and Sears point so it doesn't matter to me. Lets keep this going and make it happen. So its on for the 30th lets get a roll call and a definate meeting spot.

PS I like that wolf insignia do you actually have that made in metal?

hey!thanks for the feedback on my site.when you say the pictures are in the wrong orientation do you mean turned sideways? I agree that we should keep the organizing on this post,i just wanted to avoid any posting of addresses or telephone #'s that we dont want to go public.i also just wanted those of you who are joining this crew to sign up on my site so i would have a list of names and contacts available for quick access. As far as the 30th im still up for it,but i still havent passed it by goonie yet.ill let you know whats up as soon as i confirm plans with him.By the way how much is the gate fee for the 30th?
later

$10-12 to watch, $20 to race.....racing will probably start around 9:00. I just hope it doesnt rain, as of now there is a 50% chance of rain on sunday, lets hope that that changes.

HEY! when gooniez28 came by today we talked about the meet on the 30th. He's up for it as well. Where is the half way point in vallejo going to be vjo90RS8? Let me know where and we can get a complete roll call and list of final details started. So far we have four going for sure.hope we get a few more on the roll call once we make the plans final.
So far the roll call is.......
DARKWOLF-Concord
Gooniez28-Concord
Omcrider-Oakland
vjo90RS8-Vallejo
Let me know when you figure out the meeting point vjo90RS8,then we can get the ball rolling!

We can meet at the Holiday Inn across from Marine World, then jump back on highway 37 and head straight out to the track. If you dont know how to get there, once you get on 37 from 80 take the Marine World Parkway exit, make a left and the light and you cant miss it. We should meet at like 8:00 am so that we are at the track between 8:30-9:00 racing should start early and i want to get as many trial runs as possible just in case i have to leave early. I have to head back down to San Luis Obispo that day because i have school on monday. Let me know what you guys think and who will be able to go, so far it is suppose to be partly cloud with a 10% chance of rain on saturday and sunday so its looking pretty good. Cant wait to test out that new tranny and torque converter, i just hope i get it all done in time.

Sounds cool, I'm from Union City (kinda by oakland), I really wish I could make it, but it looks doubtful. Still trying to get my car running alright. What requirements are there to race? just curious... I wouldn't be into it right now, as I'm pretty much running stock, so there'd be nothing special there. but still not bad for a 17 year old right?

requirements: a drivers license which they dont even check for and your car has to pass a tech inspection, all they do is wiggle the seats to make sure they are bolted in, check the battery and take a quick glance at the engine to make sure you dont have anything dangerous going on. Wear long pants and your good to go.

So far so good, still only a 10% chance of rain on sunday, 60* and partly cloudy. It will be nice to have a thirdgen presence at the track. The summit bracket racing series is so much different that the regular wednesday drags....almost no imports, less high school kids (like i am even much older, 21) alot more old muscle cars and drag cars. Im hoping to get at least 5 runs....also, does anyone have any experience with a higher stall torque converter, im going from stock to 2400RPMs and am just curious about what kind of gains others have seen. Im sure the new tranny and 9.5" TC will free up alittle lost HP due to the drivetrain and i hope to break a 2.000 60' time, 2.068 is my best so far with the stock tc and tranny.

I finally got my car running perfectly again! I am now comtemplating on going, I would need to come up with a few bux for admission and gas, a possibility tho.

I dunno if it would be worth me entering to race, since I'm pretty much stock, and I guess I would be in the highschool class (I'm only 17)... I never done any drag racing before, just a bit of street racing :-D

What do you guys think, would it be worth me going?

i think it is worth it....it doesnt matter that your car is stock, just go and see what it can do. I wish that i had raced my car when it was stock just to see what it was doing before i started modding it. I think it will be fun....

also, im bring a friend along, he has a 67 289 Mustang so be nice, hahahahaha

Just a thought.. since I'm underage, would I need parent permission or any of that crap? I hate how everything asks for parent permission, I am 17, going to be 18 in 3 months, and already in my 2nd year of college, yet I still need permission to do anything!

just downloaded and read through the Bracket Rules file...

"General Driver/Rider Information
*Drivers and co-drivers (when permitted) and motorcycle riders must be at least 16 years old with a valid state driver’s license (NO PERMITS).
*Drivers and riders 16 & 17 years old must have a Minor Release and Waiver of Liability Form signed by legal guardians (forms available at race track).
*All drivers/riders of vehicles running quicker than 10.00 seconds must have a valid NHRA competition license, FAA physical needs to be completed on NHRA Form before first license run is made.
"

So It looks like I do need permission... wonder if I can get the forms off the site... looking for them next.

Well I think I'll be going... Meeting up in Vallejo at the holiday in at 8am? Sounds good to me! So who's all going now?

But I do need to secure down my battery..LOL!

I also have slight scaring on one of my tires, on the outer tread, but it's only about 1/8 inch deep at the most, think they will have an issue with that? Sure hope not!

HEY GUYS! I will be bringing along all of my data logging equip. to the meet with me. Does anyone who is attending this meet not have a data logger/analyzer? If not let me know and ill bring the correct cable & software so I can log some data for you to analyze later. Be sure to include what ECM# you have and any other info i might need to know and ill do my best to set you up!And if you need an aldl interface cable and your a smooth talker you might be able to convince me to make you a cable.
Later yo!

i have a 90 L03, i forget the ECM # but im sure it is the same as yours, if you could bring that cable for me it would be great, ill bring my computer. I tried building the cable but it didnt work, my laptop doesnt have a 9 pin COM port so i have to use a USB to COM adapter and it didnt seem to work, so i guess we can try it again at the track, that would be great man, i just hope it doesnt rain.

Just curious though.does anyone know the steps involved in converting the moates software definition and/or data stream file to read the 8746 tbi ecm? Is there another program besides winaldl and turbolink that will?I am asking because i would like one that has timing advance/retard and other data that moates software has. And if any of you can tell me were you can find out the minimum and maximum values of the data on winaldl and similar programs i will be impressed. It took me a long time understand most of these programs and still dont know it all!I would love to find a user manual or something to explain the data ranges and most desired range of each item, most of all the BLM,INT,02,and spark count tables! If there aint one, there should be.
