hold the brake and give it some gas (stall) bring the RPMs up to the point just before you tires start spinning. thats what I do

My best advice would be practice, practice practice
Find a nice vacant place and work on your launch technique, every1's car is different / every driver is different.
But like Terell said, powerbrake, raise to a certain RPM sweet spot and release the brake. One thing I can add is try not to completely mash the gas and lose traction, roll into the gas then mash.
But a 700R4 is much easier to launch than my T5, esp. for first-time launches. But half as fun IMO.
Good to see another crossfire car other than Will's

Just wanted to say that's a nice looking Cross-Fire. I really like the rims, what are they and where did you get them? Can't wait to finally see it and meet another cross-fire owner, and of course have some friendly races.

I sort of roll / ease out of the clutch, and don't completely mash it until I'm already moving a bit.
If I were to just sidestep the clutch, I'd be better off in a burnout competition than a race.
The 700R4 is more forgiving on a launch IMO.

I also have to ease out the clutch.I can't floor it till I am in 2nd though. My traction issues are better now with the new tires but I still need the upper and lower control arms.No matter what speed I'm going in 1st gear the rear end will bust loose

Has anyone ever tried starting out in 2nd on a T-5? Seems like it might help the traction issue, and would elinimate the lost time associated with one shift....
Especially with high gears (like a 4.11)?

I plan on lowering it at least an inch. Not looking forward to getting the under side and front clip banged up, but oh well, I like the look and performance of lowering a car. Thanks for the info.

Go with the pro-kit instead of the sportlines.
Not quite as big a drop, about an inch depending on how bad your ride is sagging already.
My ride is much stiffer with the pro-kit.
Some might not like bumpier ride.

Not really sure on the next meet date at this time. We were trying to make something happen this weekend, but too many people can't make it, so sometime soon in the future, I will keep you posted. Oh, I like your new sig, looks good.
Misfire Injection, you may laugh now, but someday you will be inhaling the exhaust from my misfire.

Point made Steve and Will
I honestly didn't expect to make it too far on this "mileage unknown" motor, but it served it's purpose and got the car to me and then some.
It was driven hard by its previous owner and ditto when I got a hold of it.
I just have to be an a$$hole either way so... I'll apologize for the misfire comment, at least it looks kinda cool. I actually really would like to see the two of them run. Unless Will rolls over that 4-Runner
But, just wait until the Black Beast returns triumphantly with a spankin' new Stealth Rammed 383. This motor's whining is just an excuse for me to do what I really want with the car even sooner.

Yeah, just messin Vin.When I got my old 84 with the l69 it was knocking bad.I bought it for 200 bucks and was in great condition otherwise.I got it in the air and I noticed that some tool bag had raised the car up with a jack under the sway bar which pushed it up into the oil pan, knock found.I swapped oil pans and it was all better but I missed the t/a for the 2 days it took me to actually finish it.Hope you get it in there soon.

Thanks for the encouragement Steve
I hope to get this thing working by the 28th, that way I don't miss our Six Flags cruise, plus I really want to make that Dyno day whenever we arrange it.
