its being done for free

Someone stole his laptop with all of his LT1 tuning stuff, so he said that if he could set it all back up using my car, that he would tune it for free.

The base tune I gave him is good for about 13ish RWHP, he said he could normally pull about 18-20 out of a bolt on car. That would be AWESOME! Although the most I'm realisticly expecting is about 15 rwhp. Hopefully I'll dyno around 280 rwhp and about 330 rwtq. Dynojet converted of course.

Then I need some tires and I'm hoping against hope to hit a 12.9 with a good 1.70 60 ft at about 104-105 MPH. Those gears should give me about .4 and about 2-3 MPH with the same 60 ft. If I can cut a better 60 I'm hoping that the gears+tires will give me .8-.9, and the tuning will cover the additional power I'll need to hit a 12.9 run.

Also, my car has been vibrating kyle, but it's very subtle. It did it before too. I'm going to send my driveshaft to be rebalanced and have new u-joints put on. Then I'll be set to run the 1320. Hopefully by next wednesday I'll be all set. I need an alignment and two street tires as well

I'll need to cut a NASTY 60 ft to do this, and it might require some more suspension mods. I was thinking LCAs and relocation brackets.

nobody likes sears cuz they make u use mufflers now, ontop of that you always have that headwind and tons of ricers.

i think that's asking a lot out of gears/tuning.
i don't think going from a 13.9 to a 12.9 is that easy.
sounds like you have a good start though.
looking fwd to seeing the times.

Depending on what his 60ft was before you never know, bout every 10th in the 60 is two tenths at the end of the track, slicks do magical things

Exactly! My 60 ft was a 2.2 before! If I could have pulled a 1.70 as it sat, it would have ran at LEAST a 13.4 BEFORE the gears and tuning. My car with tires and good driving has enough power to pull that kind of 60 ft. I think .4 isn't too much to ask out of going from 3.23s to 4.10s, and 15 more rwhp.

My hitting a 12.9 is going to be all driving skill, my trap speed will reflect that. I'm hoping to trap 103-104. I don't expect to do it the first time out, and as I said I may need more suspension. The car won't be a solid 12 second car, it'll just have a lucky slip from some good driving and tuning. Once I do long tube headers and my true duals, along with a few other power bolt-ons, then she'll be a solid 12.7-12.8 car judging by other LT1s. At that point she'll be rebuilt

Oh, and I might be getting SFCs put on today

Before you did the heads and cam I would have beaten you with my new gears, however now there is a different question.

I have more gear and I'll be running on drag radials. You will most likely have about 15-20 rwhp on me, if I dyno where I hope I will after the tuning. You'd see alot more if you got it tuned. I think I'll get you in the quarter due to my gears and drag radials (provided I cut a good sixty) but I think you'll trap higher than I will. On the street/highway you would probably have me. Only one way to find out though!!

I'm buying tires from vinny on monday, but those are street tires. Now that it's raining again I don't want to run DRs as daily tires, however I'm really considering throwing slicks on my spare set of rims (thanks kyle) instead of just nitto 555rs like I originally planned.

By the time I run again I'll have a new posi, because mine is going south
