Back from LA...
Drove to Anaheim with the family in the Volvo. Was wishing I had the Firebird pretty much most of the time, especially through Pacheco Pass and up the mountian to LA county. Some observations:
1.) Disney Land sucks in the rain.
2.) Disneyland sucks in the cold.
3.) Why do drivers on I-5 insist on staying in the left lane when they are clearly NOT the fastest car on the interstate? Are they missing the "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" signs? Now there is "idiot" behavior. I think there are laws in Germany that dictate you get a ticket if someone passes you on your right. We need that.
~sigh~
4.) California is pretty.
5.) There are parts of the Central Valley that are not so pretty.
6.) It's a long drive to LA from the Bay. Best to fly.
7.) 85-90 MPH average on I-5 (when I wasn't dealing with aforementioned idiots) - 26 MPG. Not bad for the Volvo.
I don't think I'll do that drive ever again.

With the family in the car, 90 is all I could manage before getting a raised eyebrow from the missus.

actually i've taken it to 145 and could have kept going but traffic was coming up
now it would top out alot sooner because it's gearing limited.
