I got rid of it because with the money i got I can go much faster in a thirdgen. probably will hit low 12s but maybe i can save up for some n2o to hit 11s.
That depends steve. I'm either looking for a low miles 5-speed car that I can slap a heads/cam/intake on even if it's a 305. I'll just wait and build a 383 to put under there. Or I'm looking for a 5-speed car with a blown tranny or engine someone is selling cheap. The most I'll spend on a non-runner is maybe $800 bucks.
For a low miles car I'd spend up to $3500. I realize I won't get the sickest car out there but I'll get a nice one for that.

I thought you were asking about the Republican ranting on your sig. No one wants to see that on a car forum.
Sorry to hear about the girl (I forgot her name). I saw this car in San Mateo the other day and snapped this for her (and you). Very nice example of a 25th..
My advice about the next car is that you should strictly define what it is that you want (and are willing to pay) and then know the ranges from there higher or lower.
It will come.

Sorry guys... I've tasted many Ferzziwigs tonight and am bored:
Clone GTA - $2250 - Needs a tranny, you can give the engine to me. How far away is mine from a 'clone'?

Sounds like a pissed off girl. Don't call this one. Well, at your age? Maybe a long shot. Wait a minute. this girl IS mad. Notice the caps?
Actually you are right... . there are not many good examples for sale in the Bay Area. I know a certain Firebird on the peninsula that the price just went up on.

Nah mike thats okay, I'm looking at two cars tonight and hopefully (the other) mike's car tommorow. They're all 5.7L 5-speed cars. I think I'm going to go with a car that's all set for a heads and cam.
Thanks though

If Del's car was a stick, it would be ideal and third gen.
if you ever come up mike, or we go down, i'll take you for a ride to appreciate a firm shifting 700r4.
the 2400 stall and trans-go shift kit mate perfectly and feel great shifting manually.
i'd take it over a stick anyday, my unique pref. of course.

You know it's all a matter of taste. I just like shifting and clutching. Never ridden in a setup like yours though.
I could be swayed...

sweet, we'll do it, just remind me.
yeah, it's not a true replacement if you're really that into smashin' clutch and pullin' gears.
i just much rather focus on other things, plus it's precise, hits hard and pulls accordingly.
a shift kit and the stall are a must for racing, but i'd be careful on your stall choice, combo depending.

a stalled and kitted auto is a nice thing to have, but im just dead sick of autos. I wanna bang me some gears
driving an auto is just so boring, even a stalled one. I actually passed up alot of fast cars because they were autos. Mostly old 60's/70's cars. Almost every single one had a TH350 or TH400.

yeah i try to steer away from the auto vs manual debate.
those who have one don't usually want the other or just have their set preference.
to each their own, but i'm 110% happy with my setup and if i bought another would do just the same.

yeah, i understand completely an auto will usually be faster/more consistant in the 1/4, but i just want something fun lol
I would probably be okay with my auto if it had a stall and a nice shift kit in it because I don't really enjoy having my transmission sliding into gear after it warms up, no fun I like to feel the shift. Maybe having a shift kit would make me appreciate my auto more. and after seeing Eric slow down with his manual, I would say choosing a manual would almost certainly slow me down as well.
