Can someone do me a favor?

If you have a 700r4 laying around or in the car with no d-shaft, could you tell me if you have play in the output shaft?I just found that my output shaft moves side to side and up and down about 1/4"The tranny hump has a dent with scrapes right above the front ujoint and it looks like the torque arm mount is ripped.I need to know if that amount of play is normal or not before I do anymore work.I'm going to buy a new tranny and torque arm mount this weekend anyway but I would like to know.My ujoints look ok but the slip yoke just flops around.Thanks.

Here's the dent

Here's the torque arm mount

Cool, thanks. My blazer had no play what so ever so I was worried.I am getting a clunk when it shifts at light throttle so I figured it was one of these things so I think I'm going to do it all.How did your es torque arm mount work out?Did you finally get it in?

no play is optimal, but someplay is normal wear and tear.

I found that the race/bushing at the end of the tailhousing is shot.Harjeet said that he replaced the tranny mount becasue it was "clunking"when it shfted. That's where the dent came from.I'm having a new bushing pressed in.
