nice kill tonight.

There was a 06 gto* next to me, as we were cruising down a backroad, between 50 and 60mph. the gto downshifted to 4th gear and floored it and I punched it half throttle in 3rd gear and i crawled away pretty quick. not bad at all eh?

*driver of said 06 gto will not be mentioned in this thread.

from the way i can drive it, even just a little over half throttle for a short burst, it really picks up. i believe its gonna be well over 400hp for sure, and in a car 700lbs lighter, im not sweating it.

sometimes the lsX needs its old pop to show them what a real motor is.

Gto VS Third gen weight

I thought third gens were about 3600. Thats not 700lb difference.

true. A stripped down(no options) Iroc is about 3300lbs. in traviZ's case he has no smog, no AC/heat, no cat, aluminum heads, no back seat, and I think the stealth ram may be lighter than the stock TPI setup. I don't think it will be 700lbs, but it could be. I say its 500lbs lighter easy

yeah but the go is very easy to lighten up the seats front and rear weigh a ton full power on both sides and the front suspension is way over built because its made for crappy australlian roads. i can get that car dowm to 3700 with me in it just buy changing the seats in the front to lighweigh racing seats and deleting the rear seats all together. and then there are parts you can buy like the kid plate the factory skid weighs 12lbs you can buy a bmr one that weigh 5lbs anything can help. its not that hard to lighten these cars they just come piggish from the factory. for all the non believers just give me some time i finally have a good platform to start with and the power will come with time.

Right on Kyle, you and me will take him and the rest of the thirdgens down, lol. Just give us a few years, lol. Don't worry Travis, I have plans for this car, as soon as I get bored with it the mods are on the way, believe me. Like Kyle said, these lsx's have so much potential it's crazy, and the aftermarket mods are only going to come even more as time goes on. I already have plans for headers and exhaust, and it's just the beginning. Either way I have much love and respect for you and your car, nothing will ever take away from that good old school 383 stroker, and damn does that sound and cam loop give me a hard on, lol.

Friendly competiton keeps things always moving forward, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Axle/Gears: 3.73 locking diff.
Del, no I was not smoked a second time. Nor was there even a first time. Travis just likes to think there was, but really not a true race, for one I can't shift very well just yet, and I didn't even down shift into 2nd. We were on the freeway and I stayed in 4th, lol. I am still getting used to having to down shift instead of just flooring it and letting the car do it for me.
