IROC in for Repairs...
Hey Guys,
Looks like there are some major changes coming for me. I'm expecting an offer on a new job any day now that will take me out of California... waaaay out, as in Arkansas. Never been there but there are some real upsides: More $$$, lower cost of living, and no smog ****'s. One of my very good friends here offered to some touch-ups on the IROC before I go.

Best of luck man.... Do what is right for you and your family.... I think you have too many teeth to move back there, but hey...
The pictures show alot of fixes... I did not notice anything when I saw the car, nothing bad at least.
Best of luck man !

Hate to see you leave, but if it means a better way of living for your family, I understand. Promise to keep the IROC in good running order. I'm jealous of the smoglees car you'll have. Looks like the autobody work is going well. Be sure to post up some after shots.... We'll miss you bro! Good luck in AR. Don't get eaten by the skeeters.

Yeah, making a living is pretty much what it comes down to. This is an opportunity to get into the Power Industry which typically pays pretty well. I'm sure I'll be heading west again one day.
The car wasn't in bad shape... a few chips here, some spiderweb cracks there. But overall, still okay. I've been toying with the idea of some sort of stripe to break things up a bit. The pic below is a stripe i made in Photoshop. What do you guys think? Does it fit the overall lines of a Thirdgen?

It's an edited pic that I've been playing with. I was also playing with painting the ground effects the same color as the stripe or even a lighter color than the grey on the rest of the car.

Hey Aaron, congrats on the job offer, as others have said hate to see you go but you have to do what's right for your family and you. Car looks good, I like the strip, going with the same color on the ground effects would look even better and finish it off, keep us updated with pics.

That would be cool, guys. I'm expecting to be heading out very near the end of the month. I verbally accepted their offer this week, but will not receive an official offer until a background investigation is completed. I'll have two weeks and change from the official offer.
The IROC is still at the body shop. It has the initial coat of grey but is darker than what I had on there originally. I'm still deciding on a color scheme for ground effects/stripe. That will get painted around the 21st or 22nd. A few days for curing after clear and then cut/polish. Basically, looks like I'll just get the car back in time for the trip to Arkansas.
Sunday's are fine for me, but I don't know how much notice I can give you for a day after the car is done and before I leave.

Okay Guys,
It looks like my last available Sunday is going to be October 8th. Hopefully the car is done... just need to paint ground effects, rear spoiler, and stripe. We'll be prep'ing tonight. What would you guys like to do?

I'm open that day. I'd voulenteer to host it at my place but we are in the middle of landscaping our back yard. Otherwise the wife wouldn't care. We could just hook up at a pizza/burger place in the valley or somthing though. You name the time and place.

No worries, Trav... It's been good!
Daniel, I appreciate the offer. It doesn't look like this is going to happen. In fact, I'm not completely confident that the car will be finished by Sunday.
Speaking of the car though, here are some pics of the progress. The louvers and spoiler are now the same color silver as the stripe and ground effects. The care is very dirty from sitting outside. Will be getting wet sanded after door jams are finished, then cut/polish.

Well if I don't get to see you, it was nice to get to hang out the few times we did. Let me know if something changes. I'm leaving that day open!

Thanks Daniel,
The sentiment runs both ways.
It's Friday evening and the car is definitely not going to be ready until Tuesday or so... Enjoy your day on Sunday.
