GTA weight

I was looking at some old paper work for my car and I found the smog paper from when i bought the car, it says "test weight 3,750lbs." Is that how heavy my car is or did they just make a guess?

Curb Weight: ~3550lbs max, so if he's estimating with his weight in it, could be accurate.

my 94 fully loaded TA weighed 3750 with me in it, so i'd imagine that's pretty accurate for a loaded weight - not curb though.

Now you're asking tricky questions, haha.
I think about 25-30lbs. Why do you ask?
Not sure how light the new ones are, but I'll be getting one eventually.

What car are you refering to Harjeet?

Yeah, definitely at a weight disadvantage, just takes a little bit more to make them faster, or some creative weight savings.

when you smog a car it only weights the drive axle(front or rear of car), so its kinda like a guess. my Iroc's smog paper work say's the same thing my moms old s10 blazer(97 2 door 2wd) said 4500. I don't think a smog station scale is very accurate for total vehicle weight.

Would a weight number higher them the actual weight of the drive axle be a benifit to the smog test?

I do, but do you know what I am saying? car over axle weighs 3000lbs, you input into the computer, 6000 pounds, this will effect smog numbers won't it?

only weight you put into the machine is the GVW and thats more of just confirmation. you drive onto the scale and it shows the weight and you hit enter.

yes it could effect smog numbers.

example: run down the street. then get a backpack and put about 20lbs in it. then run down the street with it.

That is the correct weight, give or take depending on year.

What is your setup running at the track these days Tony?

Arg! probably terrible lol, before this new ford 9" rear I was doing a 12.8, not sure how she is going to run now with the extra wieght from it and the change in gear. I'll probably going to be adding subframe conectors soon to if I get off my lazy fat *** and install them, been sitting in the box for 2 years now
