TGO. ..
Well looks like my previous thread about this topic got totally deleted, sucks! Too bad, sorry to you guys who never got to see the pic I posted in it as well, lol! This is not a true online forum, can't even say what I want without it being deleted. Plenty of freaking advertising going on though, pockets of the owners being filled with lots of $$$, and they dictate how this site runs. Yet without us they would have NOTHING!!! Hmmm, something wrong with this.... you be the judge.

You're killin me Will, christ.
I'm not going to tell somebody not to express how they feel, but unless a better venue is provided, this is where the majority of us Nor-Cal 3rd genners post and keep in touch.
I don't expect you to be a frequent poster here since 3rd gens aren't a big part of your life anymore, but show me a little respect as I enjoy them and want to keep an environment where folks will want to share in that enthusiasm.
Please refer to my sticky post above where I tried to explain it better.
Thanks and see you later.

I'm sure you boys can struggle through the advertising and manage to read the boards.
Personally though, the majority of the ads I see are to the far right, which are all 3rd gen sponsors selling parts that are useful to members here that own 3rd gens.
However, feel free as I've said numerous times to post in the forum below where our Administrators and owners will read your rants and provide feedback.
They are going unnoticed here in the 'ol West.
Thanks!

Nope. I had only seen small ads when I wasn't actually logged in.
The advertisements have already been covered numerous times in the Feedback thread.

Not sure what you guys are seeing, but make sure you have spyware removed, pop-ups blocked as well.

I'm not associated with Xoxide, nor do I work for Xoxide, but the Xoxide staff has stated that they do not want ads to be as intrusive as what you appear to be describing, atleast for members. They know that if they ruin the website, it also ruins their purchase. I personally, like Del, have not seen such ads as you describe.
If you're not logged in, the advertisements are different. It helps support the website by the random people who simply browse the website. It also helps encourage users to sign up and contribute. Numerous websites are actually setup this way.
In another thread TraviZ mentioned a will to support the website through funds/donations rather than ads. Referring to the websites I'm familiar with that do this, they still have ads shown to guests/members not logged in.
That said, I think it's important to understand that TGO costs money to operate. While there are cheap, and even free, webhosting out there, TGO would never be able to run on such plans. TGO is big board, with large activity, which comes at a cost. Yes, things changed. Dirk sold the website to Xoxide after carrying it since the start. Xoxide is a business.
I don't know of any one that likes ads. But I think using this forum (sort of like "trashing" your own home) isn't the best approach. The owners likely won't see this discussion, and it doesn't exactly belong here.
I'm sure Del would rather not have this forum used for that purpose. There are people here that have a different opinion and understanding of the situation who probably enjoy to come to this forum for it's original intention.

Del, thanks for posting the links where I can voice my opinion. I will say sorry to you only for trashing your area. Nothing was meant in a personal way torwards you at all.
As to the rest of you, SUCK MY *****!!! Especially you ERIC!!! You are the biggest hack and disgrace to this site and 3rdgens period!!! Mind your business and try finishing just ONE of your cars. The fact that they run doesn't count either, I am not going to get into this whole thing again, but how about you actually try putting the car back together with matching parts! Not a mismatched front lower spoiler, one t-top different and the list keeps on going! Stay out of my business, goes to the rest of you too, I can ***** and moan all I want, so screw off!

Alritey then, let's say goodbye to this one as well.
It must be the weather or time of year.
Making me earn my moderator dollars.
I appreciate the initial part of your reply Will, but we can't have that other rubbish posted in here.
If you ladies want to call somebody out, do it in person or via PM.
I won't have any keyboard courage and mean-spirited comments in here.
